@cnerd123 @Magrat Garlick what actually counts as a decent stamina? is 10 skill acceptable at top level or do they look for higher?
10 potential is bare minimum.

The Yattack Gamble didn't work today :( the home side have played well, kept themselves within hitting range despite constantly losing wickets. They bat deep, took it deep, and finally something went their way. Full credit.

Div 2 is a bitch.

I am hoping that Chengelpet makes a big one today against this bot team. I have promoted him to bat at number 3 after his SS popped in training this week

What in the actual ****.

I was watching Jalal's over (47.x), waiting for the game to be done with so I could go and pout in the shower. They only needed 5 more to win.

The first three balls were dots, which just felt like prolonging the unavoidable agony. I couldn't stand it anymore so I left, convinced that we had lost, but secretly hoping that we would win now that I wasn't watching anymore.

Lo and behold, then that happens.

I feel so bad for Liverpool Vikings and Graham Wainright. The Vikings were 2nd in the points table before this game, just 2 points behind us. We were playing on their home turf. They won the toss. They even outrated us! It was all going their way. But I think their mistake was putting us in to bat first in good conditions. We wanted to bat first too. The new ball wasn't going to do much, so we backed the Top 3 of the Three S's - Sajith, Shahbaz and Shkorer - to go big.

All three of them did. Sajith scored a sedate 72 off 99, Shahbaz was in Shah-boss mode with 85 off 84, and Raun Shkorer smacked it around for 83 off 55. Add in 3 sixes in 6 balls from Jalal right at the end, and we got 320/7. Big score.

20 year old Graham Wainwright walked in with the Vikings at 121/3 in 23.5 overs. By the 40th over they were 239/7, Wainwright having scored 69 of those runs in just 49 balls. He was single handedly keeping them in the chase, but needed a partner.

He found that partner in Hans Kruger (what a name). The 18 year old wicketkeeper was batting at number 9, and slammed his maiden SOD 50 in just 25 balls. Remarkable innings. Wainwright kept going strong at the other end, and a 23-run Zack Yattack over left them needed just 39 runs in the final 7 overs. This became 5 off the last 3 overs, with Kruger on 50* and Wainwright on 96*.

Then Arif Jalal bowled a maiden over to Kruger. Incredible from the skipper, but one wonders if Kruger wanted Wainwright to hit the winning runs to bring up a well deserved ton. Whether great bowling, poor strategy, or a combination of both, Luke Giddings got to start the 49th over. And what an over it was:

Liverpool Vikings almost had one player score their maiden ton, another their maiden 50, in a backs-against-the-wall match-winning chase at home which would have taken them to 1st place in the points table. They were literally one hit away from that...and then this happens.

Div 2 is a bitch.

I just had a look and realised that @Marcuss hasn't lost a game for a month. 22 on the trot! I'm keen to end that streak...

SOD vs WCC coming up, should be a closely-matched encounter.

Raees Safi isn't on sale for much longer, buy this ridiculous fielder and okay spinner if you want to.

@StephenZA, considering Tigwell is your best bat, it may help to bring him up the order to #3 or #4. Just a thought. :)
He is my best bat by 1 point over Kock, who is better defensive player. Hence I tend to play Kock above Tigwell in the big games. My openers are my next best players. And Tyagi gets 3 because of the slow starter characteristic. Katz gets the lower order because of the finisher characteristic.

Tigwell only gets to play the occasional game anyway. He has been great for me but he is largely there for big games until Mthombeni gets his wk skill up.
