Not necessarily. With the exception of Root, England's batting is mediocre to say the least. If they can get a lead of 200 and remove Root early, a win is not out of the question.

Oh yeah for sure, but most of these players earn their scrutiny in between Tests or immediately after they get out. People seem to bag Pujara when he's batting more than any other time. That's why the weirdest thing is this, and not "that he doesn't deserve it".
