Maybe he could have thought "I won't play IPL, because there's a tour for my actual ****ing country a couple of months later and I'll miss both then."

This is an absolute joke. You can't defend it when he's opted into a big pay day while she's up the duff only to not tour for his country. It's woeful from him, frankly.
Here's a thought - maybe Australia should ****ing pay him more then?

A lot of the domestic players do that sort of stuff tbh. And players contracted to BBL franchises too.

The national players though? There is no less accessible sporting team in the nation than the Aus cricket team. They have very, very little to do with supporters outside waving to them as they leave the field after a win.
Which is also becoming increasingly rare.

This from just 2 days ago.

In this and other articles, Langer said he took the criticism of his coaching really badly and sooked about it and is baffled as to why he hadn't heard this criticism from his players or administrators. Perhaps because many of them knew he would react this way and spit the dummy if they challenged him in even a mild way?

Pretty amazing for the national coach to admit that he can't take critcism and is emotionally immature. He's skating on thin ice atm, albeit that the board would be reluctant to change the coach with a World T20 and home Ashes coming up in the next 6 months.
