Real talk - will Virat ever be sacked as captain, or will he be leading the team till he retires?

If it's possible for him to lose the captaincy, what will it take?

A whitewash in England ala 2011 and a less than stellar WT20 should get people asking questions at the very least. I subscribe to the theory that captains shouldn't last more than 5 yrs, that is even more valid if they are captaining in all formats.

He will lead till the 2023 WC at least. Failing to do well in a home WC is the only event that can be catastrophic enough in terms of public sentiment to displace him. Even if he does win the WC, he will be 34-35 by then might feel happy about stepping down successfully and playing as a specialist batsman for 1-2 years in the knowledge of knowing he will retire as a WC winning captain.

Either way nothing will change till the 2023 WC.

I think Kohli will retire early (maybe a format at a time) but pretty sure he'll captain all formats until he does.

Yeah, this. I dont see him being sacked as captain, but then again, I never thought Ganguly would be either and that happened. Most likely is that he himself resigns from the captaincy and just plays as a specialist bat.

Hypothetically, if Pujara and Rahane are injured, who should replace them in the test XI? Lets say the options are not restricted to players currently in England, so anyone who has played in Ranji is available.

Just watched the first 15 overs of our new ball bowling.

Yadav was his usual self, jaffas mixed with the standard deliveries on middle and leg. I couldn't tell if Bumrah was swinging it because of the weird angle from one side of the ground, but he looked ok.

Thakur was surprisingly tight and Siraj was decent as well - bowled a really good short one to get Sundar.

From the later stuff I saw that Pujara dropped one at slip thanks to Rohit reaching out in front of him. Yadav still got a wicket the very next ball although the cameras were too busy showing the replay and they didn't show the actual wicket.

A tailender in the India warm up actually and no I am not drunk or blind when I say this.........................

MADE MORE THAN 10 RUNS. AND NOPE NOT MATCHFIXING GONE WONKY.

Bumrah also got 5 and Siraj got 3 runs. ?

Rahul getting runs is promising, maybe he can replace Rahane after this tour in that spot?

SFA from the top order though.
