Not a lot of clarity on hard quarantine for Indians once they arrive in ENG. The talk initially was 2 weeks that would have left 2 days for practice before the final.

Then a report appeared that said the hard quarantine would be a week long in ENG. Another report has come out today that Indian team would assemble on May 19 and enter a bubble in India itself before getting on a chartered flight on June 2. This bubble to bubble movement would do away with hard quarantine in ENG and they can get to practice right away.

Saha meanwhile tested positive again even though he has no symptoms whatsoever. He might not get to board the flight, brightening prospect of KLR featuring in one of the tests.

BCCI advisory to players, there will be no chartered flights to UK for individual players. Basically, consider your ENG tour over if you return positive on May 19 when the team assemble in Mumbai to enter the bubble.

Could the ENG-IND series be cut down by 1 test to accommodate the IPL? A Delhi based journalist, well connected but also prone to rumor mongering, seems to think so. The probable host counties themselves would do BCCI's bidding apparently.

I remember reading that India and england where talking about moving the test leg forward so it's closer to the end of the WTC game.

Whatever it takes!!!
I dont want to get in heat of the moment stuff but NZ played better than us and for the first 3 days we definitely matched them in intensity but we could not and they could on day 4.

We have forgotten how to play swing since that dreaded 2011 ENG tour and our players don't play county cricket, neither does BCCI arranges sufficient number of county games before any series

Good post

The problem with any criticism of Che is how lazy how most of the responses are.

No Indian fans want a t20 lunatic full of red bull at 3 trying to smash everything, but he still has to be a little more proactive and score more runs.

Rahane should be fired out of a cannon tbh, fed up with him only showing once a series.

WE just need to plan more carefully but the problem seems to be that those who do well in Aus in the bounce will struggle in England and NZ. But most importantly, our batsmen should just score runs, however they feel comfortable doing it. It just seems like too many muddled minds in that middle order right now. Even Gill seems to be caught up in that. Rohit throws it away after getting in. Virat seems obsessed with technique when he never really was the textbook technical batsman. Pujara seems to think runs are not necessary in cricket. Rahane seems to have a Jekyll and Hyde thing going as a batsman and you never know who comes out when.

I wanna see Shaw get a run in the side, Bhuvi or Chahar in tests against England and Jaddu and Ash to bowl more. Ash especially ended up looking our best bowler here.

**** me that's grim.

They have played on some brutal home pitches and against some very good bowlers away from home tbf. No nice easy flat ones against popguns in a while.
You are just being nice now. YOu are not even gambhiring coz the game is over. I thought being nice was your Athlai account's thing. :p

This. It would be interesting to see the batting averages for the opposition teams from these series.
In that period, they've been outperformed by batsmen batting in every other position outside of 3-5 ie the openers Rohit and Gill, Pant, even Washington ****ing Sundar, which is basically everyone who has got a decent shot in the period outside of the big three. Some of others did not perform in one series but they rectified that by excelling in another series. The big 3 have failed to string together a decent set of scores over the entire period.

It's true that Rahane made an epic match winning century at the MCG on boxing day and Pujara played a couple of very important defensive knocks in Australia but outside of that, they've been hopeless.

Indian batting averages since 2020 for context:
