If you play expansive on this pitch, you get out. Kane wanted to grind India into the pressure cooker and snap them with frustration. Free runs on the pads etc.

I'd give CDG license to have a go and Kane bats normally. The bowlers are also pissing into the wind blocking on this deck against this attack. They swing, Kane supports and swings when we're 9 down. Parity hopefully achieved or a small lead.

Yeah of the lower order Wagner may be the only one I’d back to last any length of time. CdG has occasionally shown glimpses of a defensive game but might as well look to attack and hope it comes off. Nicholls and Watling were NZ’s best bet in terms of grinding it out, so India hold the aces in that regard.

I haven't seen CDG score any reasonable runs when we need it. I maybe wrong but can't rely on him to get much in my opinion. If he doesn't slog that's great he'll score a few otherwise not a bloke to rely on a pitch like this. I guess it's upto out tail and Kane to eek out some valuable runs.

Runs are very important. Closer we get to Indian score better it is.

Pretty disappointed with the session. We had it in the bag after the first hour today.

India were in a similar position in Christchurch test last year if I remember correctly until Jamieson played a match turning inns. CDG & Jamieson are big threats for us. Kane will likely play safe till the end.
