Who knows if CDG will play another test (tough for him with the emergence of Jamieson), so really hope he can play a special innings today.
There's no way we are sending CDG at no.5 Likely we will lose a wicket in the first hour. There's bound to be one wicket ball in the first hour. Then we will shut shop :-) If we lose two you'll be hoping BJ is walking in not CDG at no.6Yeah, but I think NZ only increase their chances if they have CDG at #5 or #6 (depending on when wickets fall, India's lead and if we collapse in a heap first hour tonight) instead of BJ Watling scratching around for 25 (80) because the team isn't quite ****ed enough for him to go big.
If India go bang bang then it's Watling time obv and we pray we don't lose inside 4 days of play.
sharing is the same as losing
This is the attitude which NZ had to overcome in order to get to the top of the pile. It's this attitude which cost them the WC in 2019. Happy enough with a tied game hen a tied super over. Sad.No, not being there is the same as losing
lolwut? Most important test since Australia toured the Windies in 1995.
Not really.. They could bowl out NZ for 175 say around half day's play in today. They may bat 40 overs today and 20 tomorrow and make 200 and be bowled out in that period. NZ could still lose chasing 240 odd and get bowled out in 60-70 overs. Very possible in these conditions. For India, I’m not sure how they win apart from bowling NZ out for under 175 and then scoring at over 5 an over to set up a declaration.
yeah honestly i think this game is gonna be tight. india having to set a score in tricky conditions with a strict time limit will be interesting. in some situations the 3rd match innings is the hardest. Not really.. Yea I can understand why they set about to colonise the world, what a horrible place to be trapped in.Atleast we can all agree England ****ing sucks. What a miserable nation.
Yeah, make no mistake, the chances are 40-40-20 to NZ win - draw - Indian win IMO. But its better than having no chance at all, that is all.yeah honestly i think this game is gonna be tight. india having to set a score in tricky conditions with a strict time limit will be interesting. in some situations the 3rd match innings is the hardest.
So we need to take a page out of the Indian playbook and come down the wicket at times to put them off their length. Maybe not Bumrah because he's kinda slippery. But Ishant can definitely be pushed off his length. He's not much of a limited overs bowler and for the right batsman if done well there's opportunity there.I was thinking about Devon also going at a slower rate than I have ever seen him bat. It's to do with the Indian bowlers length. They bowl mostly back of a length and tight lines. They may not pluck wickets consistently unless we bat expansive but at the same time they don't feel comfortable pitching it up and getting driven. That is the difference between the England attack and the Indian. England bowlers bowled fuller often and when that didn't work they went to back of a length. Indian bowl back of a length and then once in a while bowl fuller.
I'd say draw 60 - NZ win 28- India 12Yeah, make no mistake, the chances are 40-40-20 to NZ win - draw - Indian win IMO. But its better than having no chance at all, that is all.
And I have to say this has been very high quality cricket. I felt the Australia series often produced high quality cricket, especially from the bowling side but this match has seen the type of bowling that would get sides rolled for less than 100 but batsmen have stuck in and both sides seem like they will get to 150 for the loss of 3 wickets, which you will take even in good batting conditions, forget conditions as tough as this one. It has been quality cricket and India are behind only because they could not sustain that high a level of play during the 2nd day.
120 (206) to set a score and win us the matchYeah, but I think NZ only increase their chances if they have CDG at #5 or #6 (depending on when wickets fall, India's lead and if we collapse in a heap first hour tonight) instead of BJ Watling scratching around for 25 (80) because the team isn't quite ****ed enough for him to go big.

correct, and i bring that knock up a lot, but he hasn't played that well for a while now.120 (206) to set a score and win us the match

He's not just a blocker. He's the best wicketkeeper batsman in the world.
Can't imagine either side taking the risk. No intent from these 2 wannabe champs, but will be very impressed if proven wrong.yeah honestly i think this game is gonna be tight. india having to set a score in tricky conditions with a strict time limit will be interesting. in some situations the 3rd match innings is the hardest.
There is a thin line between heroism and foolishness. It's OK to do something like that in a jamtest. But declaring behind in a wtc final will be on the foolish side of the line. Can't imagine either side taking the risk. If 1 of them does something crazy like declare behind to set up a game then they will already be the real champs in my eyes, even if they "lose" the game.
I'd rather lose being the alpha team than "share" a title with fellow ***** team because no one had the balls to try and winThere is a thin line between heroism and foolishness. that's just me though
