Sterling is lucky he plays for city to prop his stats up, he should really be playing for a mid table club. A wasteman

That was like a Mourinho V2.0 version of Chelsea. The evolution being up top where there isn't a strong target man forward to hoof up to and make Lampard type runs off. Defensively, beautifully niggly and the Terry last-ditch blocks were spot on.

Speaking of Terry, half expected to see him on the pitch celebrating at the end.

A lot of City fans in meltdown on social media. Although they won nothing for nearly 40 years it’s now getting to the point where there’s a load of teens who’ve known only success. 116 123 could be very busy for a day or two.

The decision to not go with Fernandinho was Pep double guessing himself, I think. Or, at least, that's the charitable reading.

To start a CL final without a proper defensive midfielder was a very ballsy call and, yeah the Chavs hadn't been in great nick just lately, but why mess with the blueprint that's been so irresistible since Xmas?

As grecian observes, it was only Werner's profligacy that kept it to a single goal by the break.

Feel for DCYE and Citeh fans generally, but they have arguably the best squad of players and, when not trying to out-Pep himself, the best manager in Yurp, so it will happen. Eventually.

BARNES OUT
We've played 59 of the last 60 matches with at least one of Rodri or Ferna in midfield and they've gone alright.

Absolutely nonsense from Pep. Dias and Stones were left so exposed.

Can only think he thought Chelsea would play extremely defensively and thought it would be worth sacrificing a DM for an extra attacking player to break them down.

Sterling starting was just as baffling tbh. The bloke hasn't put in a good performance in what must be five months or so.
He’s been in decline for a couple of years I’d say but it was partly covered up by being in a very good team. Now you get so much more from Foden wide and Gundogan as one of the 8s.

I think he’s the best coach in the world but this one’s 100% on Pep.
