2021 English Cricket Season

As a neutral, watching and listening to Gloucestershire's 10th Wicket partnership last night, it was around 1.15 A.M. in the morning when the match ended, that was what first-class cricket is all about.
I don't think Dom Goodman will be batting at number 11 again, he looks more than useful.

I have to say the format of the CC is working, Some interesting scores already. Warwicks, Glouceste & Sussex getting off to excellent starts after 3 games

U19 Captain
Lancs are the county to beat this season for me. Very strong batting, excellent pace attack and a leggie to run through the tail.

The batting line up has always looked good on paper but it has only really been vilas who can consistently put in performances, the pace attack is potentially good but much the same as last year and this leggie has been around for a while and has barely ever ran through a side and lots of his wickets weren't good deliveries. This was one off game against an out of form team and nothing suggest to me they are anything other than just a slightly above average county

Surrey and Jordan Clark in particular making light work of the Hampshire lineup, 51/6. Clark 3/6 from 6 overs.

Cricketer Of The Year
Also, Matt Parkinson has bowled 4 overs to Livingstone's 17 today, injury or what? His figures weren't THAT bad

How's TRJ bowling, forgotten man of English cricket, but when we get the inevitable pile-up of injuries, maybe interesting to see if he gets a Test or two in the home series, if properly fit should be in consideration IMHO.

jack Leach to be Somersets regular number 5, nice to see some stability, and non-stupidity in the top-order.
trj looked serious. still capable of extracting that surprising bounce from a good length.

re fast mediums, has craig overton got some extra wheels in recent months/years? looked pretty lively at times here v middlesex. surprise bouncer is a nice weapon too.

could make him a more realistic long term england. prospect.

My father’s side of the family came to Devon from Kent in the 1930’s.
So you weren't tempted to rebel against your dad and align yourself to Somerset, what with them being your nearest FC county? I'm guessing you were just too young to enjoy Kent's golden years in the very early 1970s.

I went to Taunton regularly during the Botham/Garner/Richards era. My father died in 1968 so I wasn’t really press ganged into following Kent, I just always did because of the family connection. I remember the trophies clearly from around 74 onwards.
