WTF is up with the umpiring in the Northants/Sussex match? Northants got two of the worst LBW decisions I've seen and the dismissal of Rob Keogh was just bizarre.
Was that Rob Keough dismissal the one that got given as caught? That was an absolute pisstake.

Yes it was weird. Hit on the pad, half an appeal from the slips, ball loops up to second slips who tries to throw the stumps down and misses, then the umpires get together and Keogh walks off looking grumpy. No-one raised a finger and as far as I could see there was no actual appeal for a catch.

Surrey's pitiful 'attack' once again unable to shift Leicestershire's lower order. The returning Currans should help, but until then we're stuck with an imported 2020 specialist, the wrong Overton and a couple of middling all-rounders, the better one being almost as old as me. Quite the triumph for the county's development programme.

County Cricket Links Blog--Links from one page to scores, scorecards, full match and highlight videos, stats, match reports (have recently added match reports from The Cricketer. Information on dropped catches. This is part of an effort to create a Domestic Cricket Links blog for every full ICC member country/region. I have done some work on Afghanistan and New Zealand, but England is where "the action" is now. I have just updated the County Cricket Links and they are current through Round 5, Days 1-2. I am setting up a links blog for the Women's T20 County Championship that will be ready soon also. But the County Cricket Links have the most links at the moment.

Great win by Gloucestershire, Lords really the only place that there was any realistic chance of play yesterday, excepting about 9 overs at the Ageas Bowl.

That's a heavy second inning shift by Craig O too.

Quite a turnup for the books in group 1 with Notts now top and Essex 5/6

It's passed me by quite what is happening at Sussex these past few years. Lots of good players leaving, some not so good coming in. The pace bowling attack in this past game, Olly Robinson aside, was pretty rank. Sarro is just a kid but he certainly isn't county standard currently. Meaker hasn't done much in a long time. Tom Clarke with 15 overs of garbage medium pace- i doubt he even bowls at his club side.

Yes, apart from Olly Robinson, the Sussex attack in this game was dreadful (and the batting not much better to be fair). It's a real shame that Meaker's career has never quite lived up to its promise. Surprised they only gave Jack Carson a handful of overs, surely he couldn't have done worse than the part-timers?

Well another 200 wickets at the current rate for Somerset coupled with the nice-looking action, he could surpass quite a few bits-and-pieces types.

5-fer for neser. The fact he didn't get a game in the 2019 ashes when hes built for English conditions and was by all accounts the most difficult bowler to face in the nets leading up to and during the ashes is insane.

How quick does he actually bowl? Been picking up lots of wickets but looks like a very typical tall English seamer to me. Bit older than you'd like too, though an average of 21 (even if partly in Div 2) is nothing to be sneezed at.

Attack for the NZ series could be interesting. Expect Robinson, Stone and COverton to all be in the mix for places. With Stokes/Woakes/Curran/Moeen all unavailable then they might need someone to bowl and bat 7 (if Leach plays) which you'd think would mean Overton, but would be good to see Ollie and Olly get games too.

I guess it depends on whether the management want to keep rotating Broad & Anderson and whether they still value Wood for home Tests (I'm sure he's in their Ashes plans).
