Think we have won most tests at Lord's in England.https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/sourav-ganguly-reveals-india-v-new-zealand-wtc-final-to-be-held-at-southampton-1254247
I'm sorry but I just don't buy this at all. NZ are playing two tests previous to the WTC final in England both at grounds which don't have onsite hotels to make it "more viable for Covid bubbles".
This reeks of BCCI muscling the ICC into getting their own way as Southampton probably is the 2nd most spin friendly deck in UK after Taunton. Maybe I'm slightly bias but it feels like an element of "India don't want to face NZ bowlers on a juicy green Lords deck".
Thoughts?
You've played more, won 2, 4 draws. We've won 1, 8 draws. Favoured us but I reckon the rose bowl does too. There are better grounds for NZ too thoughThink we have won most tests at Lord's in England.
Also those two tests could be moved out too depending on circumstancesYou've played more, won 2, 4 draws. We've won 1, 8 draws. Favoured us but I reckon the rose bowl does too. There are better grounds for NZ too though
You seem like a spudThe earth tilts on its axis because they wear the largest chip on their shoulders in NZ.
I suppose he is a bit pissed off but if anything, I feel England were even worse served by this system. It ended up disadvantaging teams that actually plays more games. Now you can argue it is the Big 3's fault teams like NZ don't play more, but I dont think that is fully accurate. It was a best of a bad situation kind of move. It was always gonna be unfair on someone and it ended up being unfair on England and India, and to an extent, Australia given they played the most tests. Is Shastri making a valid point or is he whining like @TheBrand ?
BCCI to request the match to be played at Centurion.1 Victory in last 33 years ?
I wont be so sure. They are down on morale, there are issues with the coach and even at their best, that batting line up is extremely iffy.Australia were robbed tbh, they'd have very likely thrashed SA.
on the other hand in a multiple test series if you’re the team facing a series loss if you can’t win then you’re being tested on how you can perform with all the chips in the middle anywayOne game only is good, performing in a one-off match with everything on the line is a big test.
These things are both true, but one isn't related to the other. If it wasn't for penalty for slow over rate Aus would have made the final. I'm almost certain there would have been plenty of occassions in Tests during the last few years where over rate by a team was just as bad but wasn't penalised.Australia were robbed tbh, they'd have very likely thrashed SA.
