No you can't but my issue is he spent 5 minutes looking so he could give the earlier one and hardly looked at this one. That is wrong.
If you find an angle where he clearly dropped it, do you actually care what any other angle shows? The third umpiring this series hasn't been good at all, so not defending it in general, but I don't think that's a fair criticism.

As per the laws that is not out because the ball should not touch the ground before you are in complete control of the ball.
Obviously that's true but the point about "fingers under the ball" thing is that 2D camera images can play tricks on us, and the more important point is that the fingers are a physical barrier separating the ball from the ground in those cases. I think this is a quite different case though, he seems to be grasping it in his fingertips rather than having his fingers (multiple) securely underneath

I mean I invite you to try that with a cricket ball and see if that's actually possible. My long-standing personal view is that if you've got the ball nestled in the "scoop" of your fingers and palm then it's a physical impossibility for it to be touching the ground and those should always be given out.
Depends on the trajectory of the ball and how you're receiving it, no? Physically impossible if the ball is dropping into your pouch, no part of the sphere is going to protrude through your fingers in that case, but what about when you position your hands to receive a ball dying in flight?

you'll have to clarify this I'm afraid

England are not a very good test team. I know some commentators like to talk them up as one of the top teams in the world - but they're nowhere near. A couple of good recent series wins in SA and SL doesn't mitigate this
They have the potential to be very good imo, but that's all it is - potential
Yeah I mean they only have two proven Test standard batsmen, and to make matters worse they're both allergic to batting higher than four.

I think Crawley and Pope will get there but they can't exactly be relied upon yet, particularly away from home, and "very good Test team" and "two Test standard batsmen" just don't go together.

I was responding to a post where it was assumed that a portion of the ball was touching the ground though.

Whatever it takes!!!
They will just get people to stand in those areas separating the stands. If you get enough of them to stand like in any Indian metro bazaar, you can even get it to 150K.

Oh cool, now it's 132,000 per Gavaskar. At this rate of rise, it'll hold millions by the end of the month!
apparently they've been constructing new seating in preparation for this Test

I think they've just smuggled in more chairs and fudged up the numbers a bit. 132K capacity if you include all the people who could be seated in the dressing rooms, gyms and toilets.
