He is on record as wanting to play tests, but his career threatening injury at 19 made him want to get some money in the bank first. Is Pooran interested in playing tests? Coz last time I checked, he's played his last FC quite a few years back?
And I know Bravo's at the end of his rope etc, but jeez I really wish he'd turn it around
Yep it's not ideal but I just don't see what we have to lose by letting him learn on the job when the equivalents are just not good enough at the moment.Oh yeah fml totally forgot about the A tour. Yeah he's gun and capable, but temperamentally, not sure yet. Remember him striking it well and throwing it away (from highlights). But still, could be useful middle/lower middle order bat + he should improve heaps. Awta re: Hety.
Also hopefully Hope as well :P Really thought he'd fare much better than he actually did
Literally as I type that Hety gets out in the most boneheaded way possible. It would be a crazy ride, that's for sure.Yep it's not ideal but I just don't see what we have to lose by letting him learn on the job when the equivalents are just not good enough at the moment.
So get him in I say. It would certainly be an entertaining batting lineup, that's for sure.
He needs to score bucketloads in the FC season and rediscover the art of red ball runscoring. I agree, he definitely has it in him.I am sure shai hope is still the windies best batsman. I'm convinced he can still be a good test player
You must be expecting seaming pitches to only include Cornwall as a spinner? Also why retain mosely?Good news is the squads and details for Sri Lanka's visit are being announced next week so we don't have long to wait .
My squads are:
Test: Holder (c), Braithwaite (vc), Blackwood, Hetmeyer, Pooran, Bonner, Mayers, Mosely, Da Silva, Cornwall, Roach, Gabriel, Joseph, Holder (Chemar)
ODI: Pollard (c), Pooran (vc), Hope, Lewis, Hetmeyer, Ambris, Chase, Powell, Holder, Shepherd, Hossein, Allen, Cotterel, Joseph, Smith
T20: Pollard (c), Pooran (vc), Gayle, Lewis, Hetmeyer, Russell, Powell, Allen, Bravo (Dwayne), Cotterell, Thomas, Walsh Jr, Narine,
The general pattern in the Caribbean has been seamer friendly and we use a Duke ball with an even more pronounced seam then the English one. So seamers will get preference, I guess. Might be wrong though. You must be expecting seaming pitches to only include Cornwall as a spinner? Also why retain mosely?
He's the best opener we haven't tried in the opening spot yet, if that makes sense?Yes I would also go with 3 seamers with mayers AR and Cornwall, I just thought they would put warrican at least in the sqaud, if only to keep sl guessing about what type of pitch to expect. How did mosely get on in new Zealand this year and what was it that got him selected originally? Did he have a good domestic season
I really hope they stream that, it will be a great watch. Great idea this, will be good preparation for the tests. The match will be played from March 8th to the 11th.
