Told you guys, underestimate England at your own risk. This is not Atherton, Stewart, Irani, Ealham side who are just spectators and crib about pitch being too slow, the current England side are here to win and they made it clear today.

Now wear that badge of 227 run loss or pay teen guna lagaan. :p
atherton and stewart would both start in the current xi

I understand them playing like that till they went past 120 or 140 but to have kept doing it till they were 180 was silly.
I don't think so. There was no need to slog or declare. The idea was to take the possibility of loss out of the equation and then watch how the aggressive-minded Indian batsmen bat for 100+ overs when they are told they can't win. Turned out to be exactly how I thought it would.

We will have to agree to disagree here. I think you cannot always depend on an Anderson super-spell and giving India less overs to play out may well have played into our hands. You could see the game was very different when Gill and Virat were going. I understand batting on in the first innings and I understand batting till you are bowled out in the second, but the pace of scoring for those 15 overs or so made no sense.

I do agree with @weldone, England's strength is attritional cricket.

Looks like reverse swing is alive and well after all. Yesterday Hassan Ali got it to reverse nicely too. No better sight in cricket than stumps cartwheeling.

lol yeah, this is not Alec Stewart, England's 4th highest test run scorer ever. This is a side opened by the mighty Rory Burns.
Mad to think he'd be 2nd highest scorer if it wasn't for the fact they wasted his talent as an opener to make him keep wicket.

The best part is to see salty Aussie fans come in and enjoy when India are beaten. Given all the gyaan Burgey used to dish out about fans being like that when Australia lost, this is actually fun. :) Will be more fun at the end of the series too.
Bro you're living in a fantasy land if you think any Australians are happy seeing England winning
