The stump was at a silly angle and the bail fell off with Ishant nowhere near them, presume Ishant went back to previous ball and knocked stump but bail didn't fall for a minute or so.

Congrats to England and all England fans here. That was an amazing display of determination and stamina. It could have gone wrong very easily at any point from day 2, like it did in the last tour here but they held together. The fielding is an under rated contributor to this win IMO. Some of those great catches don't get taken, this game is a draw or even an Indian win. Anderson showed up just when England needed him. Think he was pretty lucky to get the 2 wickets in the first innings, they were not very good balls but were just played worse by our #10 and jack, but here he was all quality. The game looked so different when Gill and Virat were going.

I wont think about this too much if I was in the Indian dressing room, just like the Adelaide test. Maybe better and tighter batting from Rahane and Rohit and a bit more awareness from Gill of what the bowling side is trying to achieve when they make bowling changes, I guess. Other than that we were beaten by a team that played better cricket and took full advantage of all the lucky breaks they got. And that's fine. Even great sides get beaten when that happens. Expect Kuldeep to be back next test although I am still unsure of having all 3 spinners bowling the same kind of turn but its clear Nadeem is not upto it. But Virat and Co. may just get funky and get in Rahul Chahar, for example. I wont be trying to go for any kneejerk reactions here. We could have bowled better on day 1 but it was obvious all 3 of Bumrah, Ishant and Ashwin were feeling their way back into this format in Indian conditions and England showed great gameplan by attacking the other 2 and keeping them out of the game for as long as they did. Root's innings was amazing but England dont win this test if it was not for Anderson. He shows what skill, experience and mastery coming together can do even in conditions where you are really not going to be the matchwinner.

Still think whatever England did yesterday in the post tea session was not very bright, but that aside, they made zero tactical mistakes and that has shown in this win. Well done to England. But I expect us to come back strong and take the series.

The best part is to see salty Aussie fans come in and enjoy when India are beaten. Given all the gyaan Burgey used to dish out about fans being like that when Australia lost, this is actually fun. Will be more fun at the end of the series too.
