What would be India’s tactic here? Surely they will try to play that Ashwin-Vihari type knock again ie. preserve wicket as long as possible rather than “playing their shot”?

England bowling badly so far. Archer’s speeds are right down. England don't look like taking a wicket right now

England have batsmen who can seriously accelerate in a declaration situation. Going to need a massive effort in the second innings to save this.

Whatever it takes!!!
"TN sometimes don't just pick him when Ashwin is available" is looking more and more like the horribly stupid selection policy it seemed to me when @honestbharani explained it to me a few months back.
He was also very young tbf. Sometimes long form cricket can be hard on a teenage bowler's body. So that may have played a part too. And honestly, it is not just Ash. We have a factory line of spinners, and esp. finger spinners for whatever reason.

Lol.. the only 3 batsmen who were done in by good balls have been Rohit, Virat and Ash. Won't have believed it if you said that at the start of the game. 3 of our most experienced batsmen done in by good bowling.

Idk, isn't that pretty common? The lesser batsmen are more prone to giving it away, it's the really experienced guys who often need good balls to prise them out. Obviously Pujara's dismissal is more in the "freak accident" category than either of those.
