The mental side of the game is hugely important though, as it is in all elite sport, and it's definitely deficient in this Australian side.

It's beyond more than just the structure of attack. It's the immediate and sudden drop in intensity once they feel they've gotten past the "proper" batsmen and the assumption they can just blast away the rest with no real attention to detail or discipline needed. It's losing their **** when things go against them as exemplified by Lyon hurling the ball at a batsman out of frustration, which is just a **** act that can only be borne out of a lack of mental strength and allowing things to get to you too much. It's batsmen getting out so many times in this series near or just after reaching a milestone.

On a serious note, the best beaches in Asia, perhaps even in the world, are in the Philippines and Indonesia (no, not Bali).

With that said, Goa is great - but I wouldn't go from the beaches (and even less so if you're from Australia). Goa's charm is its rural areas (and the food!), not the beaches IMO.

It's a high risk ball as it can be very expensive if you get it slightly wrong and even if you nail it, modern day batsman have got good at facing them unless used very sparingly. He tried a few at Ashwin in Sydney who dug them out for runs each time.

Fair difference in 135kmh yorkers and 145+ yorkers though. The difference in how threatening Starc looks when he's bowling with serious wheels compared to when he's just putting it there is pretty startling.

Obviously very few if any fast bowlers can go full tilt for every spell on a hot day in the Brisbane sun, and the workload concerns exacerbated that, but still.

Starc was bowling some serious pace in that last session wasn't he? The accuracy was far from perfect but the pace looked right up there.

yeah when you watch starc from high up in the stands, you don't see the ball from when it leaves his hand and you only hear it thud into the keeper's gloves

Performances like these make you greedy don't they? Can't complain if we somehow contrive to lose from here but damn if it doesn't make you expect, heck, even demand they do it again one last time. Might've even sprung an ambush if the forecast was decent.

on a related note, haze was already talking about the weather forecast and rain

we have already beat them mentally
