Indian players racially abused at SCG

What Kuggelejjin apparently did, I find anything like that extremely disgusting and wrong. I just could t give a toss about it when it comes to his selection and involvement in the New Zealand squad. All the munters on here that continually post that he hasn’t shown remorse or they won’t watch if he’s involved, go get a life.
On the first bit on Kuggelejin, I can respect that opinion, I don't personally agree with it, but it is a fair argument.

But it is also fair imo for those who have been vocally critical of the situation to remain so

And as far as I am concerned the biggest problem with Australia's ball tampering was more about what an apallingly hamfisted job they did about it

yeah exactly. CSA's inaction was down to CSA. and it's also kind of hard to defend players when they do, you know, indefensible things
Well that's rubbish. The failure to sufficiently defend players came before the "indefensible things", and when the "indefensible things" it wasn't a matter of defending them or not, it became punishing them orders of magnitude more than the action warranted.

but it's not just about "defending them", it's whether you can get the weight of public opinion on your side and put pressure on the powers that be to rule in your favour when things get contested. aus had 0 sympathy from anyone then after their behaviour throughout the ashes and thus CSA was able to do nothing without consequence.

Wouldn't have stopped the BCCI

tbf it’s more the guys who come into every game day thread and post ‘Oh Kuggs is playing I’m not watching this game’ It derails the thread every bloody time. Yes we know your stance on him, we don’t need to hear it every single time...

There's a lot of "Whataboutism" being used here to deflect attention away from the real issue. As Spark pointed out, this is a series that has been played in a good spirit between the teams and sadly a drunken group have marred the series with their abuse.

well yes. Not so much to deflect attention, as I said earlier this is a pretty cut and dry, something definitely happened and the response from security was at very least sufficient. Just adding some thoughts.

He will have this treatment, quite rightly for his entire career.

I don’t believe he’d be reading the forum whilst playing...

So it’s the guys who want to talk about cricket that end up having to read through all that crap.

LOL you think BCCI give a flying **** about the players. There's still no players union and will never be.
Didn't they threaten to leave the tour in 2007 defending their players? One who was allegedly racially abusing another player and another who was ball tampering?

BCCI treats their players better when they're transgressing than CA treats theirs when they're the victims

What the **** has that got to do with anything? I don't exactly think Santa is going to read my hot selection takes or that Southee knows I have his back harder than the US backs Israel.

This is a cricket forum where the members discuss the things they want to discuss.

This includes mentioning how utterly awful it is to see the likes of self-admitted *** pest (yet acquitted for criminal rape) Kuggs play cricket for New Zealand.

No, they didn't even give them proper legal representation until BCCI realized they could play the victim - or rather, they would look bad if they didn't. If it means they get good press, they'll do whatever.

Harbhajan racially abused Symonds and they were happy to sweep it until they realized they could look bad if it was proven (e.g people would bring up all the Indian fans making monkey chants to Symonds - and getting away with it - when Aus was touring India).

They literally could not care less.
