No disrespect to Kohli, Smith or Babar but on a deck like this there's no way they'd have survived playing merit of the ball with as much patience as Kane shows. Best test batter by far there's no doubt whatsoever.

What if the bat ends up a little too open and cover drives go to gully or if it closes a little too much and the ball takes the inside edge and crashes on to the stumps? He used to blow bubbles and play shots at the same time. He's a freak. I see he's not chewing on gum anymore.

I just tried it. You can feel the difference if you get it wrong when you tap it down. I suppose it's like tennis players making the slight adjustment from forehand to backhand.

Naseem shah is clueless. Everyone surely knows short of good length on 4th 5th stump is a ball Kane thrives on but Naseem keeps bowling there.

Yeah but no way to correct it even if you know you've got it wrong. He does it when the bowler is running in. There's no time to get it right if you messed up. Maybe he must be using oval handle bat.
