Name three upcoming fast bowlers?
Dont include jhye Richardson, i have seen enough of him.
lol Richardson is better than Indian not named Bumrah or Shami. He gets serious movement at a good pace. Neser and Copeland are test standard too. That's 7 right there.

Copeland is 34
Neser is 30
Their peak is Peter Sidlle level at best.
I don't think these are the kind of bowlers Australia is known for.

You clearly know considerably more about the state of the domestic game in Australia than myself, from your vast and wonderful knowledge who do you think has the best potential future?

name 3 bowlers except Richardson. Which means you’re after four right? Btw I don’t see what the problem is with Copeland’s and Neser’s age. They could fit right in internationally. But if you want young pacemen there’s Bartlett, Ellis and Meredith (despite having a bad start to the year.

So is the criticism here that Australia isn't producing a half dozen bowlers who would average 25 and below in Test cricket on Australian pitches every four or five years? That's an interesting bar to set, I would be curious to see how many Test nations in history would clear it.

When I think of Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood and Pattinson, the thing I think of are the years they toiled away in FC cricket and proved themselves

Cummins had played all of two FC games before his Test debut right? With bowlers, it only usually takes one look and if you know, you know.

Yes, 2 games. Cummins and Pattinson didn't have a FC five wicket haul before their test debut, Starc had a couple, Hazlewood had one iirc but he should have made his debut two years before he did when he didn't have a fiver

Although I think in Pattinson's case that was more a statistical oddity iirc, he was already averaging something like 21 in FC cricket.

Whatever it takes!!!
India have confirmed their XI too.

So it will be,

Wade
Burns
Labu
Smith
Head
Green
Paine (c) (wk)
Cummins (vc)
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood

Vs

Mayank
Gill
Pujara (vc)
Rahane (c)
Vihari
Pant
Jadeja
Ashwin
Umesh
Siraj
Bumrah

Quietly excited that we will finally see both spinners play together. We will need the 5th bowler in Melbourne and hopefully the batsmen can, for once, go big.

Speaking of Pattinson, we're almost 10 years in and we've yet to see the meme pace quartet deployed. How disappointing would it be if we didn't get to see all four of them destroying the West Indies or Sri Lanka at home as some sort of sick joke?

Yes and no. Plenty of talented kids have been elevated to get smashed. Granted aus does churn out youth h4x more than people realise
