Got sawn off by my captain last weekend when runs were coming easy enough so may be a little bias but i disagree. You can annoy the bowlers with safe singles
i'm pretty sure it's a little harder at test match level to annoy bowlers than at weekend grade cricket

Okay, maybe annoying bowlers isn't worth it then. At least for a single you know is gonna be really tight, like a scenario where you're just hoping its not a direct hit

Well, those who haven’t seen a pink ball test over here are getting some idea how it goes ****ing cray once the lights take over. Swing and seam galore

of course it's worth it, what a strange proposition. this cricket is at an incredibly high level, if you simply sit there and let bowlers do their thing and settle into a rhythm without any challenge in general then you're not going to have a lot of success.

This new ball is doing so much more than the old ball. Should have rushed through the overs early in the day to get 20 overs instead of 10 under lights with the new ball.

There are many other relatively risk free ways to do it

Can honestly say that the higher the level you play at and the better the bowling, the more important is strike rotation.

that was just a **** call from Rahane. Kohli has been run out twice in his test career, Rahane not at all. Breaking up lines/ plans with quick singles is one of the smartest and actually less risky ways of keeping the score ticking over

You can have a pretty good test career taking safe singles and hitting boundaries

Nah, it's just that the batsman are clearly not the class of their top order.
