They have got so much to think over. If Mpitsang keeps to his word that he wants to think ahead with selections then we may get a surprise or 2.
I truly hope that we get some surprises and we pick a much younger team. We need to rebuild from scratch. But I have been going on about this for 2 years now.

You wonder how much the CSA contracts will effect selection. It will look bad if you select a squad and only half the players are contracted and the other contracted players are being pushed aside.

What you want or what you think they will do ?

Always one that I confuse myself with. Basically keeping the same lot who have failed ?
Definitely not what I want! And the quota system slipped my mind for a second. I hope Mpitsang goes his own way with the selection.

I miss the radio commentary days. Loved having it on in the background. That is definitely something that should be brought back in SA.
Heard so many great stories about Charles Fortune. Icon of that era.

Last time I would listen to radio comms was before I got Mnet/Dstv in the early 2000s. It was certainly good then.

Now , when I listen to radio it is when I am in the car but the commentators aren't of a high level. They always used to use the SABC Commentators ?

Cobras top 3 all gone in Joburg (Malan's & Hamza)

Both Malan's nicking off. Hamza's off stick cart-wheeling.

Wiaan back for the Lions.

That Cobras scorecard looks dismal.

Warriors team looks a touch stronger this round. I note that Breetzke is opening.

Think it is going to be a long hard season for the Cobras. Verreynne a shining light so far with the bat.

Much better team for the Warriors. Disappointing no Jansen.

Both Moore & Breetzke out. I'm so confused with where I think MB should bat with the red-ball. He has the technique but do you really want to restrict him against a moving ball all the time.

Raynard v Marques will be interesting. You almost feel they could be in line after Petersen for pure batsmen test debuts.

I am of the opinion that both Hamza and Petersen should play in the Tests this year and given a decent run. I would not mind them playing de Bruyn again either and give him a final shot. With van Tonder next man.

We could do with some runs from the test batsmen bar Elgar

Markram, P.Malan, Hamza, de Bruyn, Bavuma, vd Dussen, D.Pretorius - if they are picked again they need to make sure they can be part of the potential best test team in the world. I've got severe question marks over all of them at the moment sadly.

Beuran increasing that gap to the rest in the competition to be the 4th best seamer in SA. 5 for nothing at Wanderers.

I am not a fan of playing P.Malan, vd Dussen or D.Pretorius. I think they are a backward step and not trying to build towards a future team. Markram, Hamza and de Bruyn are young enough and talented enough to be given the opportunity to try prove themselves and allow us to move forward. If we don't give them the opportunity now then we just slow the building of the team, not able to know where they stand long term.

Bavuma is the obvious tough one because of the quota pressures, I actually like him and at times has showed something but just much to inconsistent and gets out to often in stupid ways. He may end up playing for another year or two but I am hoping that Qeshile or Makwetu comes along quickly to take the quota pressure off.

Chance for Nandre to show what he has? It would be good to see Rickelton get some runs as well.

Especially with no SA A series in build up I can only see them going back to the tried and tested.

But it is so good seeing guys like van Tonder, Petersen, Breetzke & even Rickelton spending time out in the middle.

Oh and Verreynne debuts on boxing day for me.

He should be playing ahead of Corbin Bosch so it is good to see him getting an opportunity.

Disappointed Jansen isn't playing. Thought he fought back nicely in Bloem last week.

Qeshile starting to build into his innings. Hopefully he hs a really good season. Played 2 beautiful cover drives off Dala.
