Was the KKR performance as pathetic as the scorecard looks? Please tell me the pitch started off damp or something. That's really, truly embarrassing. Like, worse than one of the bad BBL performances bad.

There was early movement and having good red ball bowlers in Siraj, Morris (even if he isn't quite South African Test side good) and Saini helps, KKR did bat really poorly though and you kind of expected them to dig themselves out of the whole to something like 120/130 but that never really happened.

SRH confuse me. Holder is a superb Test cricketer but very average at T20 if I'm honest. Nabi and Fabian Allen, however, are both superb T20 cricketers. I don't understand the logic, IPL team selection does often seem all over the place to me. Particularly when you consider Holder has come in as a replacement and was not part of the initial squad.

Whatever it takes!!!

Yeah but I think it is a good balance they have with Nadeem in. 7 bowling options and guys who can tonk it till 8 with 9 and 10 capable of holding a bat and at least giving company to a hitter at the other end.

Aren't Nabi and Allen also excellent bowling options though?

They are but maybe they feel the Indian 3rd seamer is much worse than the Indian 2nd spinner. Its never a straight forward best players choice in the IPL is it? Often sides use the 4 overseas players to cover their weaknesses than improve their strengths.

Robin Uthappa looks such a sight in full flow. Would've loved to see him open with Rohit, two of the most aesthetically pleasing batsmen of their generation.

ah ****, was looking good too.

That Uthappa promotion only half worked, but it's given Rajasthan a decent start and given their batting some depth. Ideally, Smith should've opened; if these two can last for a while yet, he should send Buttler in next.

The galaxy brain captaincy of asking Stokes to open when you have Buttler right there ??

Hyderabad's military-medium bowling might start proving a weapon on these sluggish wickets, but their feeble batting will always keep the opposition in the hunt. Holder's not actually going to bat at 7 one hopes.

****ing brilliant from Archer and Stokes. Sheesh, Rajasthan, three of the best limited overs players and the best Test batsman in your ranks, and still down to scrapping for a place at the dinner table.

The Galaxy Brain idiocy continues from Smith. What did Rajpoot do wrong in his over? Why Tyagi and then Stokes over him?
As Indian fans, we ought to be thankful for every evidence of cluttered thinking from Smith before the tour . Also, I'm sure Bumrah will be interested in that Warner dismissal; that's just the line and length I can visualize him bowling in Aus.
