************Official IPL 2020******

Whatever it takes!!!
There is no way Deshpande is better than Harshal Patel IMO at this stage. Even if this guy has potential, he is very raw and not quite good enough for the money stages of the IPL. Better to let him work with the coaches and get better instead of putting him here and destroying his confidence.

And I dunno WTF is happening with Pant's batting but hopefully he realizes the **** he is being fed by his coaches (whether it is Punter at DC or Shaz with the Indian side) is messing with his actual strengths as a batsman and gives up trying to bat this way.
The extra pounds have screwed with his balance and I'm being only half-facetious. He looks nothing like the batsman we saw a couple of years ago.

Was just about to say things coming together nicely for Punjab in their late charge up the table. They need to finish this one off somehow. Gayle's introduction has given an extra lever to their batting and even Maxwell looked more fluent tonight than he has all tournament.

Whilst I want my team - RCB to qualify and a DC win would've made things more comfortable it would be nice if there was a bit of a jeopardy in qualification battle in final few games (ideally for KKR and others rather then RCB though  )

On that basis nice to see KXIP win today and makes RCB v KKR tomorrow a massive game for both - especially KKR. If KKR were to lose it would mean RCB need 1 win in last 4 to seal qualification (7 wins may be enough but better to be safe then sorry) but more significantly for the IPL as a whole it would leave KKR just 2 points above KXIP and KXIP would have a significantly better NRR. Add on to that KXIP have won 3 on the bounce and KXIP suddenly have a real chance. RR would be just 2pts behind KKR too (and a few games ago were the only side I could really see making a late surge for the playoffs) and Hyderabad would only be 2pts behind too with a positive NRR if they won their game in hand as well!

Yeah KXIP winning today and RCB winning tomorrow will throw the entire table open again apart from perhaps DC and RCB themselves. Its better to have 5 teams fight for 2 slots than 4 teams for 1 slot.

Now that CSK is basically out of it, I can start thinking of what is good for the league overall...

RR v SRH on Thursday is huge - SRH right back in things if they win, if KKR lose tomorrow and RR win on Thursday it would ramp the pressure on KKR who whilst having a game in hand on RR, would be behind Rajhastan on NRR. KKR still have to play KXIP and RR too so nervy times ahead for them, weird to think after how the table was a couple days ago but by the end of play on Thursday, RR's hopes of qualification could be in their own hands
