*Official* Pakistan in England 2020

England have done what I thought they would....2 tests ago. This is a rather weak Pakistan side and for them to be so competitive for 2 tests is a bad reflection on England.

I'm also uncomfortable with so much adulation for Crawley. Great performance for the kid but let's all calm down. Let him develop at his pace!

Whatever it takes!!!
As a true neutral person watching this series and not really being bothered whomever was winning, this is what I felt about certain players through this series and what I feel they will achieve in future. I am not mentioning the ones I do not quite rate to that extent.

England -

Crawley - said enough in the thread earlier, both during the last test and this one. Think he will be a mainstay for England going forward.
Pope - Good batsman, dont think his ceiling is as high as some others seem to, here but a good player nonetheless.
Archer - Just a break of one game seems to have done wonders as we can see him putting so much more into his spell. Maybe an agreement with Joe Root where he has agreed to not be stupid in his captaincy of Archer was all what was needed.
Sam Curran - Kid is awesome and think England should play him at every possible opportunity. Gonna be an exciting time for English fans when Curran, Pope and Crawley all make the side regularly with Joe Root, Ben Stokes still around.

Pakistan -

Shan Masood - Unfortunate to see a great inning not set up a win for his side in the first test. Should still be a shoo-in for Pak all the time in tests.
Babar Azam - Seems to be growing into his role as the leading batsman of the side and one of the best in the world. Still a way to go and has to ensure he does not go all Akmal.
Mohammad Rizwan - really rate him both as a keeper and as a gutsy batsman who can bat according to the situation.
Abid Ali - Another one I feel should do well at the test level. Pak should keep this opening pair together for a while.
Naseem Shah - Think the world of him. Expect him to step up a lot more as he plays more and more test cricket.

If the rain would kindly sod off we could win this today, looks like Pakistan have given up judged on the game so far.
It reminds me of Lord's 2010 where we were in trouble, had that one 300+ run partnership and it just killed Pakistan off completely. Obviously that Test had other **** going on but it wasn't known about until the last day

I felt the same about the Windies in the final test of that series. I don't think that touring in these circumstances is much fun.
Could be something to this theory. I guess both teams aren't allowed to leave their bio security bubble but it must be harder as a touring team.

Anderson now has 71 wickets at 18 vs Pakistan. Probably the best ever seamer against them.

And yeah that includes two tours to the UAE where he averages 20
Probably, but beware some bloke from the 1950s or 1960s who cleaned up at home but cba to tour there.
