Deano a little bit unlucky not to make it, unless of course you regard him to be an 80's player (which tbh is the right call). Junior could just as easily bat at 5 in place of Tugga.

Does Abbas happen to be a typo? Surely you aren't talking about Zaheer Abbas, are you?

Kaluwitharana has a decent claim to fill the 'keepers role imo.
Yeah I should have said Anwar. I was doing it all from memory :/.

Burgey

Jimmy and MM provide the much needed calming assurance at the top. Spark controls the proceedings in the middle order with an explosive lineup to follow. Stephen is a master of tricky chases with TJB providing great support. Burgey leads the bowling pack with a great skill to hunt down opposition's best batsman when it matters the most.

One could create a second ATG XI as well but this will be difficult to beat for me.
Who out of RH, Stephen and TJB is Symonds in this team? I assume it will be TJB since 7 is the position they love to give to him.

Australia would generally go with Symonds, Bevan and Watson in that order in an ATG team. There is no way Stephen isn't Bevan.

“I said that there is a number of posters, a group in this team at the moment, that are like a tumour and if we don’t fix it, it’s going to turn into a cancer,” Michael Clarke said. “Jedi is one of those posters, yes.”

S Waugh (6)

Warne (4)
Akram (3)
Ambrose (2)

Went with Jayasuriya over Waugh for his bowling. Ditto Waugh over Ranatunga. The unluckiest bloke was Abbas.
Massive lack of Dean Jones and Martin Crowe noted. Both were better than Aravinda / Steve Waugh IMO. It's just two of them did not have a god mode couple of years that Aravinda had, and the WC happened to be in between.
