Doubt it. Literally no spinner did well in the tournament, was all about the fast bowlers. Loved it.The leggies have been worked out by teams around the world, which is what typically tends to happen. We should have debuted them in 2018 rather than straight after the 2017 CT FFS, then they would have peaked perfectly in time for the WC.
Shami was gun. Played less than half the games and still ended up top 10 or something iirc.Bhuvi should be above Shami in pecking order for limited overs (and other way round for tests). Bhuvi has more control than Shami while Shami is more likely to take wickets. Bhuvi was absolutely gun at the world cup in containing the runs.
Yup. Those 3 plus Pandya and top spinner will be a good combo. And the top spinner appears to be Jadeja. This will give good batting depth too with only Shami and Bumrah incapable of holding bat properly.Hot take: both should play
Couldn't agree more. Neither should we be playing Jadeja or Pandya as 6th bowling option. They fit in the top five mandatory bowlers, not options.Yeah I don't mind Suryakumar Yadav being given a shot because while Jadhav's a good bat, if they're not going to use his bowling at all then I'd rather we move on and other batsmen who can roll their arm over.
However in our search for a 6th bowler I really hope we don't persist with norounders like Dube and Shankar. The middle order is only just looking stronger, no need to set it back again.
Dube should try a career in modelling. I think only reason he plays in the XI is because Kohli likes his looks.Dube should never play again. I don't mean just for India but cricket altogether. Some young English player retired from cricket after touring India last time knowing that he had peaked. Dawson or Ansari iirc. Dube should as well.
That's because Lyon is a better bowler.Hmm.. on one hand, NZ is a graveyard for Ashwin's style of bowling, then again, Lyon's had great success whenever he has bowled to NZ, so not sure what to make of this.
