Whatever it takes!!!
They may play Bhuvi Shami and Bumrah as the main seamers with Hardik as the back up and Jaddu and Chahal as the spinners. So our tail will still be long with 2 bunnies at 10 and 11 but at least the batting will look strong.

Rohit (vc)
Rahul (wk)
Virat (c)
Shreyas
Manish
Hardik
Jadeja
Bhuvi
Shami
Chahal
Bumrah

Yep seems likely. I hope they don't bring Dhawan back but I think they will.

Is there any reason they keep preferring Chahal to Kuldeep ? Kuldeep has significantly better T20 stats.
Yes, I don't know why this is the case. Even after going 3-0, Kuldeep didn't get a game which didn't make sense.

washington sundar is a great name. you ****s are having such a golden age atm. great batsmen, now somehow great fast bowlers, the guy who should be a total norounder is a total gun and you've even got some atg names going on. also bumrah is really good looking.

Chahal gives away over one run per over more than Kuldeep though. 8.18 vs 7.11.

ERs do not tell the full story though. Kuldeep is very rocks or diamonds as a bowler. On his day he will get you something ridiculous like 3 for 15 in his 4 overs and on another day, he will go for 40. Chahal has lesser variance between his good and bad days and therefore a bit more reliable in the team management's eyes. Also, Kuldeep was apparently carrying some injury through the T20 leg and they may have decided not to risk him for that reason.

play saini or umesh ffs, or if you're going to use blokes who aren't great recall stuart binny. i genuinely love watching him bowl when it's swinging.

I like Saini a lot but I hope he improves his bowling with the newish ball. He's a total gun at the death imo which makes him perfect for T20s but in ODIs getting the top order has shot up in importance over time.

He can still bowl through the middle if Hardik and/or Washington is in the side as they can do some powerplay overs for us up top.

Our ODI batting order is top gun right now and totally settled. How I wish we had gone to the WC with Dhawan, Rohit, Kohli, Iyer, Rahul, Hardik, Jadeja, Bhuvi, Bumrah, Shami and Saini as the line-up. We were very good in the WC with the old team as well but this team would have won the whole thing.

Shami can't still be relied upon and we will be shooting ourselves in the foot with just one spinner in England I think. Ideally Kuldeep would have evolved into a better wicket taking option but really, the lack of variety in his bowling and the lack of consistency in Chahal's bowling is why we are back to where we started. They can take wickets but right now, that involves the batting side not doing their homework against them and in today's game, that is a huge risk to take.

The leggies have been worked out by teams around the world, which is what typically tends to happen. We should have debuted them in 2018 rather than straight after the 2017 CT FFS, then they would have peaked perfectly in time for the WC.
