*Official* Australia in India ODIs 2019/20

Labuschagne is probably the biggest positive out of both sides.

He looked completely comfortable against the Indian bowlers on Indian pitches. Adapted to the format perfectly.

Bodes well for when he eventually tours there.

That Australian side definitely looks and plays different when it's this:

Warner
Finch
Smith
Labuschagne
Maxwell
Carey
Marsh

There's literally 20 better options than Turner in Australian cricket at the moment, I don't think we will see him in the side for quite a long time, if ever again. If Marsh is fit, thats a huge upgrade. And Maxwell is just an infinitely better version of Agar in all aspects.

AUS aren't dropping Agar on Asian pitches imo. He is their Jadeja. You definitely need 2 spinners in Asia.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah... But with that top 7 that sphynx posted, maybe they can play both Agar and Zampa at 8 and 11 and let Starc and Cummins be the new ball bowlers in SC conditions. You still get 3 seamers and 3 spinners plus Labu as the part time option.

Yeah, he was the reason they won their last ODI series here last year. Only played 5-6 ODI matches when I last checked, so a tad harsh to write him off so soon?

Turner at his best is certainly good enough, but even his domestic form this season has been pretty ordinary. Not too surprised he has had a bit of a struggle

Kohli is the new Bevan. Smith is the new Tendulkar.
Kohli is Kohli and Smith is Smith.

Both are great ODI batsmen. One is probably a bit better than the other even if the other has accomplished more in world cups to date.

Tendulkar and Bevan were very far apart as players, far moreso than Smith and Kohli. At least you can make realistic comparisons between the latter two. Comparing an opener to a number 4/6 doesn't make a huge amount of sense.

I always get nervous about young cricketers, especially batsman who get dropped/arent playing Shield. It means they have a flaw which has been exposed so going overseas against good International bowlers regardless of the format, is always going to be very tough.

smith is a hall of very good odi batsman, kohli is an odi ATG. kohli is a hall of very good test batsman, smith is a test ATG.

imo there’s not much discussion to be had

I think ODI and Test rankings can tell who lags how much than the other in both formats.
