*Official* Australia in India ODIs 2019/20

Whatever it takes!!!
smith is never really going to be that sort of batsman though. it's just not how he bats.

Yeah, I realize his approach to batting is predicated around ensuring he does not get out, but in LO cricket that won't fly all the time. Rahul seemed to take a similar approach in ODIs but look how different his game looked when he batted at 5 and had a different role. Maybe Smith can bat 4 and Marnus move to 3? I think Marnus maybe more inclined to try a few more boundary shots up top.

Since when did India become so bad vs spin ? We can't even hit out Zampa and Agar on a flat pitch. No wonder Lyon runs through our batting line up. I think of all the current Indian batsman, Mayank Agarwal has best attacking game vs spin .

Pant and Pandya are jolly good at hitting spin, though not sure how much they can defend against them. And Rohit is always good against them coz he can hit a six out of nowhere and bring his SR back to balance. Rahul is pretty good too, at least for ODIs, I don't think we suck as much as we did maybe 2 years ago against spin. Not having the latter years MSD hitting it straight to covers and midwicket every ball helps too. :p

At one point Australia were looking good for 340. Indian bowlers pulled it back really well, something they have gotten really good at. Just 63 runs conceeded in last 10 overs.

Bumrah averaged 120 in this series and didn't get as many wickets as he probably deserved but he bowled very well in the last 2 games. Probably the biggest positive to come out of this series for India to see him bounce back from his injury.

Yep, economy of 3.5 and 3.8 in 2 games. Scarcely believable. Gun.

Yeah, not that he will obviously, but if someone could maintain that ER over 10 overs every game you'd probably pick them forever even if they never took a wicket.

Did much change between the 1st and 2nd/3rd ODIs wrt his bowling? I was suprised to see him going at 7+ RPO in the first one and presumed he was yet to recover properly from his injury, but then he's suddenly back to better than normal. Just an off-day to start with, I suppose

An off-day and not enough runs to play with, really. Finch and Warner were just never under any pressure in that chase and India gave up the ghost pretty fast.

Check out Bumrah's economy rate in the whole series compared to all other pacers, dude is on a different level altogether.

How did Kohli become Man of the series  It should have been Smith
I don't want to get tinfoil hat but it does seem like stuff like this happens a fair bit wrt Kohli. Him getting the spirit of cricket award instead of Williamson was ridiculous.

Tbf Williamson never deserved Man of the series in WC imo.

I wasn't watching this series. Was he in a different league over last two ODIs or were the batsmen just trying to play him out?

He probably realised our middle order is extremely vulnerable if he got out

Man Kohli's extra 4 runs per hundred balls totally trumps Smith's 46 extra runs at a 50+ higher average in the series.
