In any other cricketing system I'd say yes absolutely, but when your captain is saying you can be "the best batsman in the world" that's complete hubris and reflects a culture celebrating mediocrity

Or a coaching culture incapable of producing Test match batsmen. Bairstow with his base ball-striking talent and hand-eye coordination really should be able to defend his stumps, for one.
