Question on ban announcements

No, the ATG thread aka the worst thread on this website. I'm loath to immediately go into specifics here, but with that information and the ban announcement you should be able to piece together what happened.

Do note that it was continual disobedience, so it was less one bad post as one bad post that was exactly the same sort of bad post as any number of bad posts stretching into the past, and a kind of bad post we have repeatedly asked him not to make.

We were just going through a bit of an icky spell IIRC
I think he was referring to a quasi-Nazi, not an obnoxious libertarian who treated politics like sport (in terms of "my side is always right, your side is always wrong")

Well, he certainly didn't help either. But Uppercut hit on more what I had in mind, as watson was banned about 18 months ago now.

Fair enough. Thing with Ikki though was that he didn't seem to come on all that much so was relatively easy to ignore. When he did though......

Ausage for example showed that was perfectly easy to argue from a right-wing perspective without turning to obnoxious ad hominems and the like.

I think we should keep the Politics subforum and encourage people to post their political views there. Then we should ban anyone who posts in there.

Still didn't stop people from calling him a racist though
This is the problem. I have switched my style, havent switched my views as I stand firm as a centre-right but still get accused of being right-wing, racist etc without even properly reading my posts.

I will self-admit that my posts were aggressive and not in line with the left-wing tone of this forum. But instead of focusing on the content or the nuance, there were simply personal attacks.

Getting banned and staying away from this forum was the best thing, I asked for it. Sometimes this can be a very toxic place and I hope some senior forum members work on improving it.

I agree, that no lines should be crossed. But the personal insults, bullying and one sided nature of political views need to stop. Sure, call out anyone you sense is trolling etc, but atleast show some proof of it, otherwise it's simply a group of bullies and herd mentality and makes you no better than the right wing attitude you hate.

The cyber lynching on here with people who's views differ need to stop. There also needs to be a review of mods from time to time as complacency can set it and favoritism can take over.

I'm sure many of my haters and detractors (ridiculous that I even have them) will roll their eyes at this post. But take a deep breath, sit back and understand what I am trying to say before you jump to conclusions or attack.

Again, you are missing the point. I was not talking about them. I am simply referring to the recent trends I have noticed in this forum.

I've steered clear of political discussion basically the entire time I've been here. I hate talking about politics at the best of times let alone over text where people misinterpret others tone and attitude all the time

At least when that happens on cricketchat it's nothing too important

And I actually don't mind sunilz but man hed starting going too far with the gotchas. We get it you hate Australians

I think that may say more about your powers of observation than it does the forum tbh.
