Meh, this New Zealand team have won test matches in tougher to win countries, they’ll be fine. I’m still backing them to take one of the next two tests.
India is the only country where winning tests is more difficult as an away side. Not saying they can't come back though, since this side has proven itself to be pretty resilient. But the batting needs to be far far better.

Correct if I’m wrong but weren’t NZ the first side to win a series in the UAE in like a decade?

I think Sri Lanka won there a few months earlier.

Much easier proposition now with Younis and Misbah retired. Not sure how Australia got beaten so badly there.
Makes perfect sense when you remember both Warner and Smith were banned and Cummins and Hazlewood were injured. The lineup we took there was probably our worst of all-time.

Nicholls looking in trouble every time he lunges forward to the offspinner. Guess he's being forced to put away the sweep because of the cracks out there?

We always seem to go into the final day in this kind of situation 5 down, so you think just maybe with an incredible effort the match is save-able. Then on day five the last 5 wickets fall in the first hour while Brendon McCullum slogs 70.

So picking just the one more wicket today.

So many times.

Gotta back them - Williamson will be hungry for runs and if he makes them it makes a lot more space for others to score. Put up a big score batting first in Melbourne and see if they can apply some pressure.

I know batsmen often don't know if they've edged it, but surely you know if it's bounced off the back of the bat?

Howsies right, if you remove day 1 we've played better cricket than Australia. :)
We need the sarcasm font

Jeez that was a good catch for the last pole.

On NZ’s openers, would stick with Raval tbh. It’s brutal here as a visiting opener. Unless you have genuine stand outs waiting, I think you need to stick with him and back him to do a job. Sounds trite, but what’s your other option? A random Rutherford or Marshall or something? Just stick with the kid ffs
