Losing to SL at home is a big deal though. Like half their team had played less than 10 testsSA where the best team in India up until the 2015 tour? Worst team is a bit harsh, considering we have only lost to SL recently prior to this? SA are struggling no doubt.
Sure, but losing here in Indian against the top team in the world is not a case of suddenly becoming the worst either? It is a case of rebuilding again around new players.Losing to SL at home is a big deal though. Like half their team had played less than 10 tests
Your batting depth looks really shallowSure, but losing here in Indian against the top team in the world is not a case of suddenly becoming the worst either? It is a case of rebuilding again around new players.
Who are we kidding? On this type of pitch against this Indian line up name me one current bowling line up that will not have this happen to them.Sure, but losing here in Indian against the top team in the world is not a case of suddenly becoming the worst either? Your star spinner going at 1-200?Who are we kidding? On this type of pitch against this Indian line up name me one current bowling line up that will not have this happen to them.
Batting depth long term is fine, we have many good young players coming through. de Bruyn has been disappointing, but is obviously been given the series. Have an excellent young batsmen in Hamza sitting in the shed. And our bowling prospects are still good, if young and in need of experience. The disappointment here has been Maharaj who up till now has been great.Your batting depth looks really shallow
And while your bowling prospects was looking awesome this time last year, it's been a pretty dire turn of events in recent matches
The tactics in the last two matches have made no sense. And I find it difficult that it is been dictated from the dressing room and not from Faf himself.Fair enough. India have been the best team around for a while now imo. But if your spinners are being taken apart, shouldn't you atleast try your seamers again? The captaincy has not been great. Maharaj hasn't been great but kudos to him for taking on the role of bowling machine for Faf!
Morkel and Steyn retiring within such a small time frame while losing the exiting Oliver to Kolpak plus Philander getting up there in years?Batting depth long term is fine, we have many good young players coming through. de Bruyn has been disappointing, but is obviously been given the series. I don't know man, when Jadeja is actually setting out to bat and not have a dash he is a proper number 7 in Tests.Your star spinner going at 1-200?
Jadeja shouldn't have been able to make it look this easy. You've turned him from a 9 into a legitimate option at 6
Fair fair. But he's batted below 7 a lot in tests. Won't be doing that moving forward now though which is coolI don't know man, when Jadeja is actually setting out to bat and not have a dash he is a proper number 7 in Tests.
This has been a tough assignment for a youngster like Nortje. Ngidi who has been great is still sitting in the shed. And we have at least another 2 good prospects sitting in SA. Does not mean that losing Morkel Steyn and Olivier has not hurt. The spin bowling depth has been shown up but that has always been a SA problem. Nobody is saying that SA is the team they were 5 years ago. You really should go read the SA selection thread and see the discussion around the prospects and current selection.Morkel and Steyn retiring within such a small time frame while losing the exiting Oliver to Kolpak plus Philander getting up there in years?
This needs to be on a loop.View attachment 24936
My feelings right now.
