My initial reaction yesterday was 'why isn't Woakes opening' but Broad has the wool over Warner and you want Archer getting at them early.

I'd have Woakes on now though for sure.

Khawaja reminds me of Cook a little, in that he's weak where he's weak but will contemptuously dismiss anything bowled anywhere else.

Am I missing something here? Is leg slip seriously the principal wicket-taking plan?
This is the weirdest thing. You can't just blame the bowling for being short and too straight, clearly there's some bizarre tactical reason behind it.

Joe, it's not needed mate.

Yeah I would have usually said it's just crap bowling but if that fielder is there, it's gotta be deliberate

They haven't bowled at all well to Khawaja.

An Archer bouncer must be a nightmare to detect
Weirdly it's been the opposite when I've watched him, it's almost like he telegraphs them. The one you'd watch out for from him is the one just short of a good length to short-of-a-length, because he'll hit the seam and it'll rear up.

Probably the worst pitch for him in that sense, it's just so slow.
