Yeah. Don't get the point of Zondo, Petersen would have been a better choice. Dupavillion over Hendricks. Is it a surprise to see Linde in both LO and 4-day squad? And sorry to say I don't see the point of Klaasens and Qeshile in the LO's squad. Klaasens as a pure batsmen?SA A 4-day squad
Batsmen : Markram (c), Moore, P.Malan, Bavuma, Hamza, de Bruyn, Second (wk), Zondo
All-rounders: Mulder (seam), Muthusamy (spin)
Spinners : Piedt, Linde
Seamers : B.Hendricks, Nortje, Sipamla
* How is Zondo there ? No Verreynne or K.Petersen. Personally I would forwarded Dupavillon's involvement but knew they wouldn't.
SA 1-day squad
Batsmen : Breetzke , J.Malan, Cloete (wk), R.Hendricks, Bavuma (c), de Bruyn, Klaasen (wk), Qeshile (wk)
All-rounder : Mulder
Spinners : Linde, Fortuin
Seamers : B.Hendricks, Nortje, Dala, Sipamla
If it is a numbers thing, not sure how you can take the chance away from Qeshile. Not that I have ever agreed with it as you know.Yeah. Maybe with Linde they looking towards the Indian series and the batting as well as bowling? Shoot out between Muthumsamy and Linde? If it is a numbers thing, not sure how you can take the chance away from Qeshile. Not that I have ever agreed with it as you know.
I think it is surprise re: Linde over Fortuin. I like Linde though but doesn't get much chance with Piedt. He did get a chance back end of the season at PMB and if memory serves me correct he out-bowled Piedt,
Klaasen is actually a decent fielder so would give the gloves to Qeshile if he plays, My worry again in that limited overs team is lots of top order players.
Elgars form is becoming a real issue, just out for 24. I know that Bavuma is not doing great, but he is being his consistent mediocre which needs to be replaced, hopefully soon, but nothing new. But Elgar as our opener, touted as a possible transition captain between Faf and Markram, and the rest of the problem with the batting line-up and a probable new number 3 in Hamza really exacerbates the problems. I mean Markram is only just settling after we looked for a partner for Elgar for how many years? Now it looks like Elgar just can't get going again after that great season we hoped he would kick on from. I mean how many players can a team carry because of 'reasons'.SA Test incumbents

That is what it looks like. Possibility to go along as 3rd spinner and they probably have the most ability with the bat amongst spinners. Bjorn's batting reminds me a lot of Keshav's.Maybe with Linde they looking towards the Indian series and the batting as well as bowling? Shoot out between Muthumsamy and Linde?
I`m not against Klaasen as a player, but more as future looking? Is Klaasen the right person to be thinking about now for the team in the ODI future? I suppose he is only 27 but he had one great season (much like Jonker) but not really set the world alight. Agree on top order player issues. Need to look for that number six that can build and end an innings difficult task.
I agree on Elgar being more of concern considering he was a vital cog averaging over 40. Some players when they get to 30+ can't keep up those standards.Elgars form is becoming a real issue, just out for 24. This Indian tour is going to be such a litmus test for CSA, players and coaching staff.
So he has basically made himself unavailable for T20WC next year? Not sure how bothered I am!JP Duminy retires from ALL international cricket:

I suspect he's been told he's not going to make it to the T20WC. If that's the case then he's basically retiring now rather than have to face the situation of having hung on only to not be selected. So he has basically made himself unavailable for T20WC next year?
Taken 3 wickets in all 3 innings played so far.Keshav Maharaj has signed for Yorkshire.
