Indeed. Only really J.Malan, van Tonder and Breetzke coming out with any positives with the bat. Qeshile we all know is probably better suited to the longer format at this stage.J. Malan really deserves a full shot. Does not seem the most talented of the youngsters (not so young anymore) but has put up good FC numbers and has continued to perform.
Sad to see. Good players would like to see them playing something.Rickelton, Petersen, Bedingham, Verreynne, Dupavillon playing no representative cricket this winter.
Bird and Parsons really sound the business and seem to be showing it. U19 needs a serious coaching shake up.SA U19s a similar boat : Pakistan Under-19s in South Africa Youth ODI Series, 2019 - South Africa Under-19s Cricket Team Records & Stats | ESPNcricinfo.com
Bird the clear stand-out with the bat. Terblance got runs but not at ideal scoring rate. Parsons faded a bit but did have an injury. But only Bird(85) and Parsons (90) had a strike-rate above 70 in the main batsman.
Coetzee and Cloete the stand-out quicks.
Hopefully when I get the time I am going to look into the SA u19 results since the current coach took charge.Sad to see. Good players would like to see them playing something.

I just realised it was day before the announcement, not even actual selection. But reading between the lines I think what you see is Faf and Otis clearly aware of the potential huge batting problems begging Zondi to Include ABdV. I do wonder if Otis and Faf may have gone to ABdV and asked him to consider it first? ABdV may have just said yes to late.
Kinda what I said way back when. I still think Gibson went to Zondi wanting to get de Villers back in and was told no unless de Villers played those matches against SL and Pak. Then when de Villers queried about it Gibson made another appeal to Zondi who turned him down. I don't think it would have made as much of a difference to this WC for SA. We had problems, have problems and will continue to have problems until we can sort out the FC structure, coaching and administration issues.AB speaks out and tells his side of World Cup selection issue

Any rumours?Over the weekend
Otis Gibson's review
Director of Cricket appointment
Sounds like it was a massive meeting for the immediate future of SA cricket.
Nothing yet but hopefully soon.Any rumours?
https://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/Proteas/how-brexit-could-impact-sas-kolpak-cricketers-20190724A no-deal Brexit could mean "Kolpak" cricketers are gone from the English county game by 2021, according to updated guidance from the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Biggest concern. Structural changes may be good but pointless if you don't pick the right people to run it. I am happy to see Gibson is gone, and having Van Zyl take over as interim director is hopeful but we shall see what happens.Sounds good but I worry about the effect the structures beneath have had in the last 4/5 years that will make things difficult for us to compete with the best any more.
Our domestic structure was hurt by CSA/government where winning culture and excellence had to take a back seat.
Desperately hope there is good things to look forward to in SA cricket but this last while has been the worst it has been since re-admission and I am not sure I have faith that the right people are going to be put in place.
Just hope some more big blows don't have to happen still but I fear India away and England home will ensure the true acid test.Houwing takes on the axing of Gibson.

Apparently Faf committed to T20 (WC obviously coming up) and Tests. I think they will do a total overall of the ODI squad.
