Teams don't often win away in the cl knockouts anyway. I doubt many great managers will have vastly superior records.
Maybe Furball's 'all things considered' refers to the players that Guardiola's generally had at his disposal compared to most of his contemporaries. Not that it matters hugely. City still favourites to go through imo.

Given their financial shenanigans, and how obnoxious band wagon City fans are in this part of the world I want them to get knocked out by a Victor Wanyama away goal.

Probably asking for too much though

Guardiola's CL knockout away record is weirdly poor though. He puts away these same teams regularly in a league format.

have you not read the last page or something? Several people have explained the incentives to why this happens and why this is a non-issue.

Clearly you need that trip to the Himalayas :p

I was thinking this makes 1-0 away not the worst result.
Guardiola's sides have a habit of conceding stupid goals on the counter attack in 2nd legs because they've left themselves a lot to do by losing the first leg.

It probably explains why he's only made 2 finals. You can get away with losing a first leg to Porto or drawing at Leverkusen, but when you do it against Real Madrid, Chelsea or Atletico Madrid then you run into trouble.

In fairness at a strategic level you could make a good case to say that his strategy really should have paid off, they completely dominated that second leg. Not his fault Bayern couldn't finish all their chances.

Barca looked pretty mediocre too. A better team would've beat them comfortably yesterday. Busquets looks a massive liability against any strong, athletic midfielders.

Got to say I am finding it hard to believe that Chelsea were made to play on Monday when they have a huge game tonight in the quarter final of the Europa League. Surely it is about time the tv companies were forced to help the clubs who get through to the latter stages in europe and they are all made to play on a Saturday before a european match?

I know it is just Chelsea and nobody cares about them but it could just as easily have been Arsenal in the same situation. It is ridiculous to shoot ourselves in the foot and hamper any potential success for our teams.

Chelsea have a piss easy tie lol. We go to Watford on Monday then Napoli on Thursday. Though I don't hate that it gives us an extra day for the league game tbh.

Also the Premier League really have made an effort to help the European sides out in the last couple of seasons. Has made a lot of the Sundays before CL weeks (particularly in the group stage) pretty tedious actually.

How bad was Ashley Young? Holy ****.
He used to be able to put in a decent cross now and then thus he was always the less awful of the gruesome twosome with Valencia, but Damn he is bad right now.

Dalot and Shaw first choice full backs next season with experienced cover needed.

would you want Aaron Wan-Bissaka? Clearly gun, but would cost fortunes and need an elite centre half and a gun right winger. (please don't).

Impressed with the Arsenal score. I could well have imagined them winning at home, but a current two goal lead is more than I expected at this point in the match.

It sort of depends on what other business we do, but yeah I’d want Wan-Bissaka. Depends how highly we rate Dalot but the fact that he’s not got games at RB despite the state of our other options isn’t a good sign. Darmian, Young and Valencia should all be moved on so we’d be short at RB.
