Funnily enough we actually had someone perfect for that role in 2015, but he's lost his way badly.Stoinis is a trash bowler. Australia need a Woakes or Phehlukwayo at 7.
Yeah but neither of them are Australian.Stoinis is a trash bowler. Australia need a Woakes or Phehlukwayo at 7.
Wade at three in that line up imo, with a licence to stonk.Turner's now first in. with that sort of power hitting prowess:
for english conditions:
Finch
Warner
Smith
Maxwell
Turner
Stoinis all rounder
Carey/Wade
Starc
Cummins
Hazlewood
Lyon
alternates - handscomb for carey/wade.
Raina was a proven performer 5 years back but now is a proven non performer. There was something called "Project Raina" tried out but it sadly failed.Bring back proven performer Raina
His competitors not exactly knocking on the door was one of the reasons why Rayudu was given a long and counter productive rope. Now, his replacements not being good enough will be one of the reasons why he will keep playing.Hope we get these losses out of our system before the WC and that someone actually plays well and replaces Rayudu.

Smarsh I hopeIf Stoinis is fit for last game, who gets dropped? Smarsh or Handscomb?
Indeed. Though he was our fourth bowler in that WC team.Hes talking about Forkers Faulkner I imagine
His bowling this season has been on such another level that I grow another leg just watching it tbhIt will be interesting to see if Cummins continues on with this rate of improvement as a LO bowler. Never thought much of him in the shorter formats tbh, but he seems to have grown another leg. Will be handy in England if there's any seam movement on offer
yeah that's the pedantic point I was gonna make a big post about. he was picked in the WC team based on his performances as a batting all-rounder but his actual role was clearly as a bowling all-rounder, filling the number 4 bowling spot in place of pat cummins/a spinner, albeit promoted above Haddin which you could easily argue was an incorrect choice. it could have ended up as a regrettable mistake but Faulkner's bowling performances in the WC were basically the best in his ODI career, while his batting wasn't really needed, so it didn't impact things too muchIndeed. Though he was our fourth bowler in that WC team.
