Desis are ****ing precious about food when they're abroad. A man should eat primarily for nutrition and functional value. Taste is welcome but secondary. Indian cuisine reverses this relationship with food and so we have an entire population of crybabies surviving on chips and fruits when they tour abroad.

Try goat next. There's a place in Kenya called Kikopey where they roast goats that have spent their lives grazing on wild vegetation and drinking mineral rich water from a lake with no natural outlets. So tasty

For example, I was told Rockpool in Crown casino was one of the better places to eat... but it was basically TGI Fridays with dim lighting and water features.

This may have changed since I was last there... given the money to be made in Aus I assume the top European and Japanese chefs will be looking to invest.

You got some bad advice there. Hopefully it was deliberate on their part and it cost you a fortune for very average food.

For a immigrant country with an ever increasing desi expat population j would have expected the dining scene to have improved over the last decade.

Dining scene is awesome. Certainly more diverse than most places, because people actually want to move here as opposed to wanting to get out of their cesspool of origin. Fantastic array of cuisines from all over the world, with amazing produce too. You can even get tap water for the table which doesn’t lead to a battery of stool tests to determine the nature of the intestinal parasite you’ve picked up.

Would recommend. Just not to you.
