Good ball, but Rahane needs to be dropped. Had more than enough chances. Even looked pretty good at times this series but hasn't done anywhere near enough.

That's a sharp short ball. If you're gonna persist with being over the wicket as a leftie you need hard, aggressive bowling if it's not reversing.

Sounds like we need a swap for Neil Wagner. I'll also swap Handscomb for Nicholls.

Australia are back in it. If they can keep India under 300, that's a great chance for them to win the series and deny India history.
That will still be tough unless we bowl really well with the new ball. Agree that it doesn't really feel like 4/230 though.

Yeah, getting seriously tired of feeling resigned once we are 3 down. Rahane inspires no confidence whatsoever; just comes in, gives the run rate a brief spurt and gets out. We should be expecting more than just the very occasional fifty from our number 5.

drawing the series in 2003/04 was a bigger achievement than winning this one IMO

I know Aus didn't have McGrath & Warne in 2003 but not having Smith & Warner is a much bigger loss for this side than McGrath & Warne was to the 2003 Aus side

Nah still need him, just in the first test he scored a crucial 70 odd in the second innings. But yes definnitely he needs a big score. Ironnic how he was the best overseas bat last time around.

India will always whine wherever they go, there's no stopping that
If this series is drawn, most indian fans will call for the heads of Rahul and Rahane. Poor team selection, shot selection etc will be criticized. Whining will be the last thing done. We also won 3 tosses ffs.

Thought it was fine tbh. Both blokes were driving fine and looked a lot worse on the back foot. Agarwal had any number which he had no clue over their whereabouts, and Pujara nearly popped one onto his stumps as well. Thought it a legit tactic in those circumstances

Edit: Like, if neither bloke is going to try to score off it *and* tries to ride the bounce rather than duck or swerve to the point where they’re giving you a chance, then it’s a bit of a no-brainer to give it a go.
Sure, but when it's every ball you dramatically reduce your chances of getting a wicket as well as blowing out your bowlers due to the extra effort. There was some good short stuff in there, but when the end result was nobody got out, you have to wonder what the effect will be as the innings goes on. I could understand it if the wicket was pretty flat, but when Cummins pitched up to Kohli, there appeared to be enough there to warrant testing out the area short of a length a bit more often. The short ball loses its element of surprise when there are 5 an over.
