Is it? I can't think of anyone else with that profile who would be happy to take the job on an interim basis.

Unless it's... Fergie Time.
Its not the worst part time job to be fair. I think most will appreciate that the club is in a mess, so whoever takes it and even if they fail, they won't have their reputation ruined that much due to all the other bollocks in the background. The money would be fabulous and most elite managers would look at the players and fancy their chances of improving the team.

Mind you, SSN have been making a big thing about a 'club source' stating the interim boss is someone the media will enjoy working with, leading one person to point out O'Neill is currently unemployed.

This is starting to feel like seeing the bike shaped gift under the Christmas tree only to find its 2 bin lids and some scaffolding.
O Neil will never get a premier league job again.

I think it will be Blanc as short term coach, free, wants it, knows the club and not a bad manager.

I dunno about the Summer, Poch would be amazing, but Woodward negotiating with Levy could be a disaster. Simeone linked also, great manager obviously, but another defensive manager? Dunno.

I don't think Ed will negotiate, if he's the man he'll give Levy whatever he wants. He can't afford to **** up another appointment/transfer

True enough, probably won't end well for Ed if he tried to, Levy is ruthless when it comes to getting top dollar when it comes to transfers.

Suppose the other thing with Poch is ,,would he want it? Its possible Real could be hiring again in the Summer and that supposedly is his dream job.

I thought you were joking about Solskjaer but his reputation as a manager is the absolute pits. He didn't get another half-decent job after Cardiff because there are hundreds of stories circulating about how comically dire he was.

Unfortunately I don't know the details.
I seem to remember his team selections and general tactics came across as totally clueless. Seem to recall players being regularly played out of position (Frazier Campbell in midfield springs to mind) and other odd decisions like playing with 5 CBs with no recognised wing/fullbacks and other nonsense.

If this was Germany, would Eddie Howe be in the running for the job? He's taken Bournemouth up two divisions, kept them in the Premier League, plays the aesthetic football United want.

Howe isn't a bad manager but I doubt they'll promote a mid-table overachiever any time soon after Moyes.

Getting a little concerned that Ole seems to be fav to be the care taker manager. Blanc seemed such an obvious choice that even Woody could not ignore.

Also, the reaction to that Pogba tweet was dire, don't mind joe bloggs losing his **** as he probably knows no better, but Neville surely would have known that was a sponsored tweet. Neville is a legend, but because he failed at Valencia he has way to kind on Jose last few months, on Sunday moaning that Jose did not have midfielders who could pass the ball,,,,eh Fred and Pogba dude.

This is very true. It's obvious that managing is a high pressure job and that calling for someone to get sacked isn't nice. Indeed, I think most people were relieved for Slaven Bilic when he was sacked by West Ham on the basis that he could get out of that pressured environment for a while. But sometimes a pundit should just admit the obvious when it's clear a manger's reign isn't working out.

Neville as a pundit just talks crap as soon as the subject matter is Man Utd. Has his moments of talking crap regarding other clubs too but nothing like with us. Think he did this even before his Valencia reign tbh, though specifically his leniency with Jose may have its root in his time in Spain.

Yeah but tbf there is passing in the sense of passing the ball about the middle of the pitch, and then there is the incisive chance-creating passing on the edge of the box, and Utd certainly lack the latter.

The problem is a lack of co-ordinated movement rather than the passing ability of individual players. Sanchez was incredibly incisive until the exact moment he joined us.

Looking like it will indeed be Solskjaer. Oh balls.

A bizarre choice. I know it been a caretaker role would turn of a lot of people, but Blanc has not worked since 2016 and I doubt he would turn it down and is obviously more qualified than Ole. Jardim is right their also ffs.

btw if United fans enjoyed Jose Mourinho's relationships with questionable agents, I can delight you with the news that Solskjaer will bring with him Mikel John Obi's old agent, who now shills for such stars as Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Jo Inge Berget, Havard Nordtveit and Mame Biram Diouf
