It hit him well below the knee roll and was only over the top stump by a centimeter. Back in the day umpires gunned you for that crap. Now you have drs it favours the batter anyway. Pad up without playing at your peril.

Umpires never used to give those. It's only changed recently (and rightly so imo) with the introduction of DRS. Dar's decision against Smith changed things.

Yeah they'd give you if you did it more than once or twice. Umpires rightly don't like that kind of negative play.

It's necessary imo. The longer we stay out there the harder it's going to be for Australia in the 4th innings. Besides, Lyon is bowling so well, there's no point taking risks.
We can't go too slow either of course else we won't have enough before the second new ball is due.
