Unfortunately when you do what Auckland does, and pick a whole batting unit of middle order players, there's 1 or 2 who are going to get found out. That's been Finn all season, and will be Beghin as well if they leave him up there. They seem to have lost all faith in Guptill-Bunce.

Love watching big Jamieson batting. Can't wait to see him in the Blackcaps, he's developing really nicely atm. Just not sure where he could get a game, Test would be the best format for him ATM, but would be behind Henry and Ferguson at least. (How lucky have we been with injuries? Can't remember the last time Boult, Wagner or Southee missed a test through fitness.) Wagner has that 3rd seamer spot locked, but not sure how long he can maintain bowling 130km bouncers at almost 33 years old.

Awesome knock by Finn Allen to get Auckland through to a win today. At least he's guaranteed to bat at no. 6 for couple more games. No. 6 is fine for him, he's a free flowing batter. Over the time he'll get up there as a no. 3 batsman for Auckland.

Firebirds not good today, didn't bat well. Only Conway showing some grit. That'll do some damage to our chances of winning Plunkett shield this year.

Southee didn't miss a test in Australia (though he didn't bowl in the 2nd innings of the first test due to a sore back), but has been in and out of the side with niggles over the past couple of years. Injury enforced absences included the 2016 tour of India, the 3rd test v South Africa in 2017 and the first test v WI last summer. Also started this season with a niggle that kept him out of the first two rounds of the Plunket Shield. Could be some rest and rotation for him this summer if we're as dominant as we should be against SL and the Bangerz.

A few sons of 90's players in the under 19's. Blair Hartland's son Ben is playing for Canterbury Under 19's. Also, Ben The Harris's son Jack. Meanwhile, the sons of Chris Pringle and David White both playing for ND Under 19's. Tim Pringle particularly sounds like an interesting prospect, having beaten Kane's old intermediate school record a few years ago and last year becoming the youngest to debut for BOP.

Earlier this month Pringle made his debut for Bay of Plenty senior men's team aged 15 years and 74 days, which beats Williamson's record as youngest on debut of 15 years and 111 days set back in 2005.

At Otumoetai Intermediate Williamson scored 426 runs in the preliminary Northern Districts qualifying games for the New Zealand Cup. Pringle, also playing for Otumoetai Intermediate, scored 429 runs in six innings without being dismissed in the qualifying games to beat Williamson's run tally.

"Obviously it is a huge achievement so far and a huge honour for me as Kane is one of my idols as well. It is quite cool to break that [age] record," Pringle said.
