That settles it for me

It's now time for another entry on the list of things that I never thought possible

"I have more faith in Aaron Finch than any other player in our test batting lineup"

I mean, ball tampering is one thing, having player’s partners throw tantrums and have health issues supposedly relating to what’s happened in the team another. But actually having a family member arrested on a terrorism-related charge is surely peak CA 2018.

Next thing we’ll find out Labushagne’s old man used to beat up Mandela on Robben Island back in the day.

Not clear what happened but it could be he was trying to set up that Lankan bloke. I mean it would still a peak tool thing to do if its true, but it might not be an actual terrorism threat. Maybe the Lankan stole his girl or his job or something. Anyway we'll see.

Reports suggest he framed the other bloke to get him back over a dispute about a woman. So fair enough I suppose. Play on. I would hope charged are dropped as this is plainly an affair of the heart.

Sure, the other bloke spent four months in custody and had his reputation trashed for life, but the Australian public know he was apparently a Sri Lankan, and all the evidence since they first toured here is they’re no threat at all in Australia. He’s apparently suing for wrongful arrest and unlawful imprisonment. State will settle that, no doubt.

This could be one of the great Australian sporting stories if Ussie makes a ton and dedicates it to his brother. Up there with Alfie Langer after a Broncos grand final win in the early 90s saying “This ones for you, Kevvie” into the camera for his brother who was in goal for fraud; or Chicken George dedicating a Qld Origin or Kangaroos win (I forget which) to brother Bevan who was convicted of murder in the 1980s. Terrific stuff.

Shades of Dusty Martin’s old man being denied a visa to watch him play the 2017 GF too.

It’s got all the making of an Australian fairytale.

He does a Denesh Ramdin and holds up a sheet of paper with a list of grounds Tim Paine wants to make tons at.

Didn't Martin make a handcuffs gesture in a EF a few years back?

Tim Cahill did something similar for his convict brother too in a goal celebration

It's Aussie tradition
