yes.Was Atherton your fav English batsman during your childhood years
So that's who that is.it's Atherton haha. I spose they do look like alike.
If he took his physical shape seriously he would be a serious player. He is still a good player. He’s short sided himself a bit though on the physique front . The extra weight contributes to his power though. He mustn't be all flab considering his bat speed, flexibility and power . He's still robust.Shazad always said his cricket idol was Virendar Shewag
Afghanistan is my second team. I follow them very closely. Shame they've had close losses lately. I'm interested to see them building for CWC2019. Hoping they win (nothing against india)This won't be easy to chase at all considering the lineup we've trotted out.
Quietly hoping Afghanistan pull this off.
His double hundred chasing the world record score vs Canada in the Afghanistan early days announced him to me.ive kept half an eye on Shahzad ever since he hit 40 odd against Saffers in the last t20 world cup and kept 'holding the pose' after a six. would be great to see him ton up here
Singapore actually beat that previous side. Good old days. His double hundred chasing the world record score vs Canada in the Afghanistan early days announced him to me.
I have a great love for the players who broke through in 2008-2010, everyone else in the Afghanistan side seems like a pretender by comparison. Get off my lawn etc
Hamid Hassan was a serious bowler back then. Shame about his injuries. Be nice if Shahzad could hit a test hundred at some point. His double hundred chasing the world record score vs Canada in the Afghanistan early days announced him to me.

Ridiculous knock. SR of 82 but with only 16 fours and no sixes. His double hundred chasing the world record score vs Canada in the Afghanistan early days announced him to me.
Haha stuff like this really makes it better too, as it shows how much some of those individuals improved in a short period. A lot of these guys were still around when they got ODI status, but they were still inconsistent/undeveloped enough just a couple of years earlier to get smashed by Singapore:Singapore actually beat that previous side. Afghanistan was effectively a club level team (with serious talent). It's amazing how they've come on over the years. Great development and team ethic. It's great sides how all the associates have come on over the years (and disgusting how ICC have treated them).Haha stuff like this really makes it better too, as it shows how much some of those individuals improved in a short period. Group B, ICC World Cricket League Division Five at St Clement, May 27 2008 | Match Summary | ESPNCricinfo
There were probably a bunch of games they won narrowly in which a loss could've had them miss a qualifier or something and changed the whole course of cricket history for them too, given how rapid the rise was and how dependent on this generation the whole developed system potentially was.
