Nah I just think it'll be an amusing meme for ten minutes. Nothing else positive to take from the squad announcement at all.

Good chance of England batting till 11 in most matches with 6-7 bowling options.

It's pretty interesting how most modern English cricketers can handle themselves pretty well with the bat. Anyone with more insight able to shed some light on the likely reasons behind this?

I am someone with less insight but IMO it's just turned out that way lately, that a lot of their better bowlers also happen to decent bats. There are plenty of bunnies around England but they aren't among the very best bowlers in the country.

I don't rate Wood in international cricket. He's had enough chances. Averages are woeful.
I don't think they bother about averages any more. Can you bat, can you bowl fast?

Stokes 39.72 econ 6.08
Ball 46.66 econ 6.20 (injured or would have been in the squad)
Wood 46.88 econ 5.49
Stone l/o 38.86 econ 5.40

Not sure what he's done with that list but I don't think the bolding is what he's intended. He's picked 9 bowling options and left out the captain . . .
Yes, I believe all the 3 of Roy, Hales and Morgan will play. Good chance of remaining 8 being allrounders. I bolded the allrounders and part-timers as that was the point I was making (I always consider keepers as allrounders too).

Fed up with Morgan now. Wish he would go and be a journeyman t20 player. Has held our mdsx team back for years.
Trouble is he trying to come back to county cricket now as he's not getting signed in the Ipl, but his performances for us in red and white ball formats have been poor.

I can confirm stone wood tastes like piss
I'm not going to make a habit of defending much Australian beer but seeing as there a number of different varietals of Stone & Wood, I struggle to see how you can think they all taste like piss.

Ah fair enough, I saw 11 in bold and thought it was a suggested team. Not sure that both Roy and Hales will play though, think they're competing for one spot.

That's more because the bunnies are specialist batsmen
