*Official* India Tour of England 2018

Not sure I agree. Runs still need to be made in test cricket especially against good bowling attack.
Yes but it's much easier IMO when you're lead's still higher than what the other team managed in the first innings. No doubt India did well, beautifully well but it's easier to dominate games where you're in the lead, as opposed to coming from behind.
There's also the momentum which takes you out of the opposition's reach pretty quickly.

Maybe, but it's always hard batting in test cricket when you're out of form. He's done quite well.

Hope we can bat out a couple of sessions tomorrow, need to put a few overs in their bowlers' legs. Excellent day for India, which is amazing when you consider that England comprehensively won the first session.

Not seen any of it as been working but he isn't a great captain anyway considering he was hyped for so long.
It's more the fact that he seems to have become an ordinary batsman that worries me - I don't think we have a better captain anywhere, but several who could do as good a job without necessarily affecting their own form so much

England are a very one-dimensional side. Good when the ball swings. However, their batting is poor and particularly brainless. Their bowling attack is one dimensional. Nobody quick, no mystery spin in fact no spinner who can successfully hold up an end. This doesn't win you many test matches, particularly out of home.

When England travel, they lose 2, 3, 4 or 5 - 0. When teams come to England they can usually get a win or maybe two.

Something does need to change and it's a problem that isn't just done with the odd change. I think now is the time for Ed Smith to shine, he's clearly a very intelligent man.

Two new openers, a new captain. Decide who is the best keeper and where is Bairstow going to play the best. He surely cannot bat this high with such top order frailties since he does like a big drive. Curran should play, he looks like a good cricketer. Decide who the best spinner is in county cricket. Decide who the best captain and leader is in county cricket. Root is no leader, he is shy and resembles a little school boy. He gets salty when he gets out and is incapable of making 100s, that cannot inspire the troops. Stokes probably isn't good enough to bat in top 5 either on recent form. Pope is clearly batting too high.

England are trying to make a middle order of 4-7 out of players who should be batting 6 or 7. Clarke could come in, therefore as a name that springs to mind. As for an opener, well at this stage anyone will do. I've heard that possible Jamie Overton or Olly Stone could be quick? Last time I heard someone say an English bowler was quick though was Mark Wood, and hahaha.

Root should never be allowed to play for England again after this **** show. His captaincy in the series is a disgrace to the game of cricket regardless of what happens from now on in. If India turn the series on it's head it will be very interesting to see the public reaction. India look like they've got the game in the bag and England's confidence has hit an all-time low. India can't be written off in the series from here. Their tail is right up now and England look in big trouble.

I think there's only one team playing this team. The other is just a **** show to be honest. Credit for India for playing as a team throughout the series regardless of the scores. That can earn a lot more respect than what England have been up to. Can't forget that the conditions were stacked ridiculous against India in the first two games. India are only just starting to work the conditions out too, that's the beauty of a 5 match series. A great team can adapt as a series progresses. A great player can also adapt (Kohli). I think if (when) India make it 2-1 this series is going to get very interesting. That's the beauty of a 5 match series. 4th game is going to be a great one imo.

There's a lot of biased in sports. I just say it as it is. I know none of them personally. I like to see sport being played hard and fair. England have been a disgrace this game with selection and captaincy. When India have made mistakes in the series they haven't looked sinister at all. Some of England's decisions in the series have genuinely been a disgrace tbh. That's all now. I'll post after tomorrow's play. I highly expect India to dominate tomorrow. Rashid ought to bowl first up tomorrow, but I'm really not seeing it happening after Root's bizarre decision to remove him from the attack after getting the breakthrough tonight.

That decision to give Root out... can we drop he pretence, and get rid of the 'fingers under the ball thing'. Especially when there was clearly a a huge gap between between between his index fingers at least. Are we supposed to believe he just held it in his pinkies? Perhaps when the ball bounces off the ground it's time to recognise that it bounced off the ground and give it not out. Is cricket being run by Michael Clarke or something?
