Disagree. Runs, not eyes. Shaw is good too, but Mayank should get the first chance as he has plundered runs both in India and England. Has done all that was asked for.

I agree with this line-up. Dinesh Karthik in current form can be on standby to replace any of them. Yes, Manish Pandey should not be in the Indian set up unless he can find good ways to accelerate quickly and consistently.

Eh I used to think like this but I just don't buy it anymore, especially not for bowlers. If he can't get through a drubbing without having taking a bag against Bangladesh at home first then he probably won't be able to get through a drubbing regardless.

If yesterday's wicket is any indication, the late season pitches are likely to have something in them for him. Would definitely look at bringing him in at the first opportunity if Ashwin ****s up.

More than late season, it is the dryness of the atmosphere that is affecting the nature of the pitches.
Hopefully, some of the test venues have mechanisms in place to water the pitch adequately even during an arid spell.

Yeah it's a long series so Ashwin may not last but India are quite likely to do dumb things like replace him with a 5th quick. Fingers crossed though, hopefully he gets a gig.
