I was hoping to see some different pitches to the **** that has been served up at Melb, Bris and Syd for the past five years. They'd still be crap, but hey it'd be different crap.
Yeah, surely canceling it without a good reason (which this clearly isn't) should be punishable. Guess that's why they're moving towards the Test Championship which apparently is binding.I'm more surprised that anyone thought the tour had any chance of actually going ahead in the first place
You've got to wonder what the point of having an FTP is if any board can just decide to cancel a series if they cbf playing it
But if it was profitable or "viable" wouldn't they have just gone ahead with it?A series not being "financially viable" seems like a suitable reasin tbf. It's just that the tour is totally viable
>inb4 teams forfeit Test Championship points, because playing for the points wouldn't be financially viableYeah, surely canceling it without a good reason (which this clearly isn't) should be punishable. Guess that's why they're moving towards the Test Championship which apparently is binding.
A gorillion dollars? Good times ahead for the Greyhound industry. So Ricky goes to Channel 7 for about a gorillion dollars. Good, hopefully he doesn't get surrounded by hackfrauds in the box.
You don't think that Brayshaw has all the toys and the levers to knock it out of the park with his commentary skill?Triple M has dropped its radio coverage of test matches.
Hope to Dog this doesn't free up Brayshaw to do Channel Seven commentary.
Channel 7 won't show the t20i so Ricky is free to still "assist" Langer and the selectors with the Aus T20 team building to 2020 and to coach DD in the IPL. So he is still free to dabble with coaching.Ponting being front and centre on comms is great for those of us who love the game, but it looks like he's going to end up being the Sterlo of cricket - a bloke you know would make a ridiculously good coach and/ or administrator, but who will never have to put themselves through the stress of the job because they're one of the game's best analysts and can get more coin for les stress in the media.
That's the point, really. What possible reason would be compelling for anyone actually qualified to do the job to take on a coaching role? All the people saying Gillespie should be the head coach, why on Earth would he even consider taking that gig? Would you? I ****ing wouldn't.Ponting being front and centre on comms is great for those of us who love the game, but it looks like he's going to end up being the Sterlo of cricket - a bloke you know would make a ridiculously good coach and/ or administrator, but who will never have to put themselves through the stress of the job because they're one of the game's best analysts and can get more coin for les stress in the media.
I don't know about cricket-related reasons but just for quality of life even the best place in England couldn't hold a candle to the the worst place in AustraliaWhy would anyone ditch Sussex by the Sea for Australia?
